What Should The Fate of The Next Green Lantern Movie Be?

Ok I know this doesn't matter too much, but WOW... I really hate that costume.

I want to see a Cosmic Odyssey movie. I don't want to see another focused GL movie.

Nice Article, but I would rather see Guy Gardner (done right) before bringing in John Stewart, I'd say bring in Stewart for a 3rd movie. With Guy you'd have great character development. Guy is like a cross between Baz, Jordan and Stewart. he's been disowned by his father, he's the misfit of the Justice League, he drives Batman well... Bats, and he has a way of sticking it to the Guardians. He's fought Sinestro several times, plus with history of wearing a yellow power ring, you could really have a great story line. People don't look up in the sky and say "YAY! IT'S GUY GARDNER TO THE RESCUE!" it's more like "OH GREAT, THAT REJECT FROM THE GREEN LANTERN CORPS IS HERE..." Plus he doesn't live by the same rules as other heroes... he's willing to take a life and punch out members of the press, he's willing to flip the bird the cops... I don't know anyone who wouldn't love to see a superhero as such an anti-hero on the big screen. He's the one guy who can get away with mooning batman for cryin out loud lol.

I say while Hal is off fighting the sinestro corps John Stewart is introduced

The green lantern was a missed opportunity. WB went for it with budget and production but director, script and casting(except Sinestro) let GL and WB down

Hal and Sinestro Corps for the next GL film!

Nothing else is acceptable.....

They show Sinestro at the end of the film with the yellow ring. Start the Sinestro Corp War.
They should just make sure that they take time with the next movie and blow it out.

The more I watch Green Lantern the more I like it. Especially the directors cut, the scene at the start adds much needed context.

Here's my idea for a Green lantern sequel:

Film starts off with a green light heading towards a planet in sector 1417, the planet has bare streets and a smell of fear, we hear a curfew ringing out and an alien stealing some "bread". At his home his door is broken down and he begs for forgiveness, he's lost his job got no money wife died. A green fist smashes him against the wall.

Opening credits.

Guy gardner gets a ring and goes to Oa. He gets trained by Kilowog and then Sinestro, Hal turns up and takes on Sinestro (first time Huy and Hal meet, lots of banter). Awesome fight sequence, Sinestro wins. Tomar-Re explains that after the threat of Parallax the Guardians have doubled the core, hence Guy's ring.

Hal takes Guy for a rescue mission in space. A ship crashes on the planet they go to and it has the alien from Korugar mortally wounded in it. He begs them to help his planet and asks them to set free his children and dies.

They go to Korugar and fight their way to find Sinestro sat on a throne. Katma Tui turns up leading the rebellion and they keep the guards busy. They fight again and Hal and Guy beat Sinestro. Guy tries to kill him but the ring stops him. Katma Tui leads Guy to the dungeons where the dead alien's kids are and she says she'll take care of them.

Sinestro is taken to Oa and the guardians expel him from the corps, sending him to Qward. Hal doesn't like it and thinks he should stay on Oa in the sciencells . Guy pushes Sinestro over and says "He's nothing without a power ring".

Some time passes and it cuts to two green lanterns trying to catch a crime lord who is the tyrant of a planet, one of them has natural chameleonic powers and doesn't appear until they are doing the deal, the other lantern is a shapeshifter and is "doing the deal". They spring the trap and the tyrant is beaten. Then a yellow ring shoots throught the ceiling of the warehouse and chooses the tyrant "(enter name) you have the power to instill great fear". A fight breaks out and the tyrant kills the two lanterns.

Back on Oa, Hal and Guy are training and they see the two rings fly back to the Guardians. Hal goes to find Salaak and Salaak tells him that the "specialist" lanterns are dead. Hal confronts the Guardians and asks what could possibly kill them. Then there is a flood of rings from deceased lanterns from the edge of Guardian space. Hal decides that it must be Sinestro's doing and that he was too dangerous to be banished off world.

Hal leads a team of lanterns to Korugar. The Sinestro corps are there. There is a big epic fight, lanterns die. The guardians allow the use of lethal force. Katma Tui is once again leading the resistance and reveals she is the new Gl for 1417 saving Hal's life. Hal goes to confront Sinestro and Sinestro reveals how parallax is the embodiment of fear and Hal only destroyed it's host. He had created a new yellow ring and used it to attract parallax and create the yellow power battery because he knew it was a matter of time before the guardians banished him. The Green Lanterns fall back and prepare to defend Oa.

Oa big fight. Salaak kicks ass. Guy confronts Sinestro, Sinestro puts Guy into a coma. Hal becomes Ion and defeats the Sinestro corps. Film ends with the oath.

Post credits, "John Stewart of sector 2814, you have the ability to overcome great fear"

yeah..that is a green lantern movie i want to see...not sure about hal becoming ion instead of my man kyle but hey, i can get down with creative choices if handled well and for the right reasons.
