Josh Horowitz of
MTV Movies recently asked Ryan Reynolds what aspect of the
Green Lantern movie has him excited to play the lead role of Hal Jordan. Reynolds has this to say:
"I think you walk away from this first film, and the moments that you remember and the moments that mean so much to you, not unlike 'Iron Man,' are the moments where the guy's not in the suit,
That's a tough thing for them to get right, and that's something that they did get right. You see why this guy's in the suit, and that's what's most interesting to me; not that he's in the suit, but why." For those of you wondering if we'll see Hal wearing jeans and a flight jacket for most of the movie, there's no need to worry. Reynolds explained a bit further:
"It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it's not a labored origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act, The movie starts when it starts. We find out Hal is the guy fairly early on, and the adventure begins." MPP - I don't know about you guys, but I'm paying to see Hal is his green suited glory. Green Lantern: First Flight nailed the tone. Hang the jacket up early and get to ring slinging!
Like I've always said, if this movie follows the comic Green Lantern: Secret Origin, it will be a monster hit.
