that was great lol and green lantern was great better than thor but no1 wants to accept that fact.....just because it wasnt one of the greatest movies ever made like nolan's batman movies have become doesnt make the movie a bad movie it was great acting minus blake lively's performance and the CGI was great and the story was great as well what was wrong?

@yankeemanf

So if no one accepts that "fact", is it not safe to assume it's not a fact and is actually the opinion you hold? Yeah I think it's safe to assume that.

@yankeemanf What was wrong with it?? Pause the video around 25 seconds and look at the neck line. I know it's unreal and it's a suit made out of light but it looks so cheesy and fake. Any art university in the world would condemn such a contrast of what's real and what's supposed to look real.

I hope they do a sequel, they just had some problems introducing the character in the first one. They should get it right the second time, keep the actors though, just fire the writers.

@yankeemanf

Your opinion isn't a fact, actually. And the story was terrible for a Green Lantern movie. A lot of it actually made no sense. They didn't emphasize any of the cool things about Green Lantern. They instead focused on Hal Jordan romancing Carol on earth. They ruined Sinestro and the set up for the Sinestro corps. The CGI was pretty bad.

To the crazy people that say that the Green Lantern movie was better than the Thor movie, I ask: If the Green Lantern movie is better, why did the Thor movie got better reviews from critics and the audience and why did Thor made more money? Please explain to me how is Green Lantern better.
PartyHard
PartyHard - 6/22/2011, 8:57 AM
@TheGOODAMNSUPERGUY

Why do people keep telling people to "face" things that are nothing more than their opinion? And Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston got the most praise in the reviews. Plus the story was actually well written. Both Anthony Hopkins and Natalie Portman don't get rave reviews just for being themselves.

Good counter argument, bro. I don't doubt there will be another one. And I will go see it without a doubt. I paid to see Jonah Hex, for gods sake. But I'm going to express my disappointment when I feel like it. Quit taking it so personally.

@Intruder

No one needs to face anything! People can like it if they want. I just strongly disagree with them. I love Hulk with Eric Bana for instance. I won't let anyone tell me it's one of the worst comic book movies, because to me it's not.

@partyhard... No doubt you'll express your opinion.... over and over and over and over again. Everything that can be said has been said. Every analysis, every critique. I think we can all agree it wasn't the best ever, not the worst ever... and everything else falls between. Condorman FTW!!!

To each their own, but GL really fell short. It was cool to Hal Jordan in live action and the movie had it's moments, but for anyone to suggest it was better than Thor, must have been dropped on their head. On the other hand, I am looking forward to a sequel, for the sake on really improving the mess of the first outing.

I mean the rest of these guys could say it was good but truth is it wasn't. How would it look to start with a campy/cheesy movie that have a sequel that has more serious tone. I say this because they would totally have to change the tone of the movie in order to make it more plausible and marketable. Something like "The Matrix" with a more cerebral take on the characters.

WE MUST HAVE A GL REBOOT

I want a reboot/sequel like "the Incredible Hulk" did Hulk(WAY better of course). Directed by the Wachowski Brothers with a screenplay by Jonathan Nolan . Weta on sfx. They would have to used Kyle Rayner, set it slightly in the future, and briefly cover how he is the last Green Lantern.

The reboot would be an adaption of Rebirth....and if later they beside to do it, make prequels if the want to get into back story (in the same vain as first class). YOU WOULD NOT GO WRONG!!!!!

PS.

Please use subtitles for the Aliens when they are talking where only other Green Lanterns can understand each other. Or, have the ring speaking over alien chatter. It would make it SOO Much more authentic! I wanted to go into GL film and get a SURREAL feeling! And Please do something with the oath, too. I did not translate well on film.

i enjoyed green lantern more than the green hornet & priest.

but nowhere near the quality of thor & x-men first class.

thor is the best cbm so far this year.

Green Lantern was in no way better than Thor, not even as good but Thor wasn't that good at all either; only slightly better.

In the words of @Grif

"Frick this movie; Bring on the Green Lantern reboot"

Xmen first class best CBM of the year so far…funny how we all "knew" it'd be crap…we've gotta start being more patient before we start knocking movies.

For the people that promised it would be the STAR WARS of CBMs.... Now you're taking it back!?! Saying it was "pretty" entertaining? I shouldn't have to put you in your place since you guys are already doing it yourselves XD Instead of an epic Green Lantern movie we've been waiting for, that comes from the likes of The Dark Knight- we get a typical cheesy CBM!!! I keep saying this time and time again, the film should've took itself seriously. Anyone that disagrees is too stubborn to admit it.
