From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team--the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits--Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand--with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

I wasn't as big a fan of this movie as many here, the general audience, or the critics. The film was very James Gunn - hit and miss. I loved the visuals, some of the humor, action scenes, and some of the characters. But the character and story development was very lacking. I also felt like the movie never developed a consistent tone. Tried to be goofy funny in one scene and then really serious the next then goofy again.

That dance scene was a perfect example. Ronan should have annihilated Quill with that stupid dance and not asked a question. He's about to obliterate a planet and he cares about a dance? It didn't have the payoff for me that I hoped. Seemed too cheesy.

This part really threw me off. You could feel the awkwardness in the audience. Which now that I think about it, it's freaking hilarious.

Well so far you had Pepper kill or defeat the real Mandarin

Catwoman defeat Bane

And now Ronan defeated by a dance off!

Shit was awesome. Distracted Ronan enough for the hydron enforcer to blast his hammer, releasing the stone. Then Ronan was vaporized by the stone, not a dance off.

But you know, some things are hard for some people to understand ;)

It was a distraction, and it was totally within MCU Peter Quill's character. It's was the most unlikely thing Ronan would expect from a defeated enemy, hence the flabbergast. What are people not getting about this?

Nova Corps was by far the worst thing about this movie.

Great, Mant brings up MoS and Watchmen here......I want the old site owners back. You know, the ones that banned Mantinium like 12 times or more. Now they just put a retard helmet on him and just let him roam

Ronan doesn't have to expect anything from Quill.

He has to kill his ass.

Mantimium is very transparent.

He has a DC fanboy insecurity complex that is so strong he has to overcompensate by mentioning the DC movies he thinks are masterpieces on every Marvel movie thread.

So lame.
