Zap2It is reporting, that comedic actor, Glenn Howerton, who is best known as Dennis Reynolds, auditioned for
Superman Returns, and more recently,
Guardians of the Galaxy. You know him as a co-owner of Paddy's Pub, who suffers from an exaggerated sense of self-worth, but you almost came to know him as Peter Quill, Star-Lord!
"I think ten years ago I auditioned for the Superman reboot," Glenn says of 2006's "Superman Returns." "I did audition recently for 'Guardians of the Galaxy', to play the role Chris Pratt is playing. And I know the director of that movie is supposedly a big 'Sunny' fan, which is cool."
How far along was he in the process? Don't know. We do know Marvel was certainly looking at actors from other comedy television series, like Chris Pratt from
Parks and Recreation, the actor that actually landed the role. I'm not gonna focus on the
Superman Returns part of the info, as we don't know which role he was up for. Glenn did mention another comic book role he'd like in the future if it were to become available, "I think playing something like The Riddler would definitely feel like it was in my wheelhouse."
