James Gunn Confirms AVENGERS: AOU SDCC Footage is NOT the GOTG After Credits Scene

Director James Gunn recently confirmed on Twitter that the tag scene included with Guardians of the Galaxy will NOT be the Avengers: Age of Ultron footage shown last night at San Diego Comic Con as many have been speculating.

It's going to be a Thanos / Death make-out scene. You heard it here first.

I kinda figured it wasn't the footage anyway! I mean guardians won't meet avengers probably until the avengers 3 so the connection for an after credit should be thanos related or an introduction to possible doctor strange!

So, I guess there is no chance of seeing anything AoU related until October/December. I was hoping that the GOTG after-credit scene would be the AoU Comic-Con trailer. It seems I will have to wait...

I think Gunn said he directed the credits scene, so it's probably something to do with Marvel Cosmic.

If that Entertainment Weekly cover was the final Ultron form i'll be disappointed. Don't like the Ultron designs that much so far :/

@pymparticle

Looks like tony's black and gold armor. Hopefully we get that in the "Avengers on an asteroid in space" scene.

they had avengers footage for CA TFA after credits scene, i was hoping it would be the same here, it will probably still tie into Avengers AOU though

This is GREAT news. It means that we still have all that footage for Avengers 2, PLUS whatever Gunn has filmed for the after-credits scene in GotG. Awesome.
JamesMan
JamesMan - 7/27/2014, 11:12 AM
Well the after credits scene will probably be Doctor Strange related since it's supposed to open a new door in the MCU.

Where's all the people on this site who said they were going to Comic Con? Did anyone record any footage? All you gotta do is upload it here and we'll download it. lol
GeekyCheekyChic
GeekyCheekyChic - 7/27/2014, 11:13 AM
At this point...knowing there is a comic con trailer...Gunn's bonus scene better have Adam Warlock or more Thanos.
TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 7/27/2014, 11:15 AM
The after credits scene will most likely be Avengers 3 related. Guardians is really trying to tease Thanos so I think what they've done was record a full motion capture end credits scene starring Brolin as Thanos.
GeekyCheekyChic
GeekyCheekyChic - 7/27/2014, 11:16 AM
Adam Warlock.
Thanos courting Death.
Ms.Marvel
Dr. STRANGE
The Watcher

If none of those....not interested Gunn.
