Less than a day after wrapping up filming for Guardians of the Galaxy, actor Lee Pace spoke with ClickOnline about The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug as well as his villainous role in the Marvel adaptation. "He’s a [frick]ing psycho!" Pace said of Ronan the Accuser. "He’s a real monster. I’ve had the best time playing this character. I’m glad its all on film and I never thought I could be so nuts in it! [Director] James Gunn is just putting together a phenomenal movie and I’ve had the best time working with him on it. And yea we’ve made a monster of an alien!"
Lee Pace isn't the only one who has completed their scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy, with just one day of filming remaining. Director James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Dave Bautista and several other supporting cast members have all taken to Twitter recently to announce their final days on the Marvel production. Check out the series of tweets down below.
But first, it seems we could see Benicio Del Toro as The Collector long before Guardians of the Galaxy releases. It's already been reported that his character is built to appear in future Marvel films, but the Oscar-winning actor apparently has an uncredited part in next month's Thor: The Dark World. You may recall actor Clive Russell, who plays Tyr in the Thor sequel, implying that he shared a scene with Benicio Del Toro, although he didn't specify the film (could be The Wolfman). Nonetheless, it seems that The Collector will pop up during The Dark World's post-credits teaser.
“Guardians of the Galaxy,” the next epic adventure from Marvel Studios, is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn, and the film will introduce audiences to a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award® winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is slated for August 1, 2014!
