New "Critics/This Friday" TV Spot For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Released

Another new TV spot for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy has been released, and it features some great new footage (particularly of Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon) from the movie as well as plenty of praise from critics. Hit the jump to check it out!

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st.

@celotom

I can only assume that is from a fan, because Douglas looks like has has or is about to sign it. Plus, I don't think Marvel would ever adapt a costume so accurately. On a side note, look how sad Douglas is. I don't think any of the actors want to be associated with this film. Sad...

Guardians is going to be incredible, I can't wait to see it. Unfortunately, I think it will be Marvel's peak. What they are doing with Ultron and Ant-Man is the epitome of laziness. I believe it spits in the face of many loyal readers and core supporters of their company.

Well, trolls are evolving.

A year or two ago it was GOTG that was going to be Marvel's downfall/first bomb.

Now its going to be Antman.

"At the height of their powers, our overlords at Marvel have deigned to prove, like an emperor tolerating a court jester, that they do, in fact, have a sense of humor.

The Marvel universe, of course, isn't entirely lacking comedy, as we've seen in "Iron Man" and "The Avengers." But on the whole, the Marvel kingdom is built on an unshakable foundation of self-seriousness."

I agree with what the critics say that GOTG will be the best Marvel movie ever. Only 4 more days left to go until Marvel's next potential worldwide billion dollar hit-to-be, Guardians of the Galaxy, comes out baby! YEAH!!!!!!! Let's help Guardians get a billion worldwide by starting with getting Guardians to gross $100 million dollars or more in its opening weekend.

GOTG will be hard pressed to make a billion no matter how great the reviews are. There is a lot going on for box office still this summer and I would be happy if it does between $500-600 million. Anything over $400 million is a solid first offering and anything over $700 million would be outstanding.
