Not the 1 $ billion a lot of people predicted. Don't care about the numbers, though. I really like this movie! It's awesome and Gunn is an amazing and talented filmmaker.

this movie was f*cking awesome. and it's almost like a paradox, so many contrasting parts shouldn't be able to work together, yet they do, James Gunn did the equivalent of a juggling act while doing a tightrope walk too, amazing. it deserves every penny.

I still believe that if Ragnarok came out first instead of GotG it would've made near 1 bln.
This is how much i trust Taiki.
But now...eh no chance in hell.

If the first half of the movie wasn't such a waste of time and more like the second half, it would've done better.

So much wasted potential in the first half. They were so concerned about being funny every 10secs instead of moving the plot forward.

Looking at the CBM coming out this year, Homecoming is gonna have a shit time at the box office. It has to deal with Apes the following week then Dunkirk. Although maybe WW as well. Captain Underpants comes out the same week as WW then it has to deal with The Mummy the following week. But the film with the clear competition is Homecoming.
