GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Could Explore Drax The Destroyer's Backstory
During a set visit of Spectre, actor Dave Bautista had the chance to speak on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! While doing so, he revealed that this film could possibly explore the tragic backstory of Drax The Destroyer! If you're interested, check out his thoughts HERE!
As you know, in Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax the Destroyer revealed to his fellow teammates that Ronan The Accuser killed his family, and laughed after the tragedy. Ever since then, Drax has looked for revenge! When he seemingly got it at the end of the film, he made clear that it is Thanos he really wants. With that said, Dave Bautista during a recent interview with Cinema Blend, on the set of Spectre, said that he thinks Guardians of the Galaxy 2 should explore Drax's backstory. Check out his thoughts below.
"I don’t think anybody would be upset with me sharing that I think that’s what they want to do. I think that’s the goal — is, you know, we wanna tell more of the stories of the characters, because the characters are really interesting. You know, I think that’s what made Guardians so successful as characters. They really are interesting. They’re a little — they’re jaded. They’re just not your cookie-cutter characters. They’re definitely not boy scouts and girl scouts by any means, but I think that’s kind of what made people able to relate to them. And I think, yeah, I think definitely they want to tap into some of that some more and tell more stories, which, as a fan, I’m excited to see."
Eventually at some point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we'll learn secrets about ever member on the Guardians of the Galaxy's roster. For instance, the sequel film will most likely reveal who Star Lord's father is, and how Rocket Raccoon was "torn apart and put back together again." Anyhow, I know I'd love to see a scene showcasing what exactly happened to Drax and his family! Would you? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
