The goodies keep on coming from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as director James Gunn has taken to social media today to announce that both instalments in the franchise will be shown back to back in select North American theaters. Interestingly, the filmmaker refers to the first movie as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1, a sign perhaps that Marvel Studios may retitle the 2014 film in the near future.

Here's the official word from Gunn along with a brand new poster which will look great in a frame!

"See a Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1/Vol. 2 double feature exclusively in RealD3D on Thursday May 4th at 4:30. That's right! Over four hours of Guardians bliss with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 followed by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at select locations. Guests receive an exclusive poster and souvenir collectible button set. Tickets Now On Sale at Fandango!"

@Menks123 - I love the attention to detail. That circular mark is a sign of a much-played LP.

For some reason, I have a hard time getting excited for pretty much any of the CBMs this year. Last year I was extremely excited for Batman v Superman and Civil War, excited for SS and DS, and kind of excited for the rest. This year, though, I was extremely excited for Logan, excited for Thor and Spider-Man, kind of excited for Justice League, and not excited at all for the rest. I'm not sure if it's superhero fatigue or what, it's just an interesting observation.

@Valdez - I know what you mean.

I used to be so excited a long time ago, when I was just by myself and wasn't on CBM sites or forums and wasn't enveloped in every piece of news or drama.

I think you just need to step away from social media regarding these cbms.

@Valdez - Don't worry I'll be excited enough for the both of us.

@NoMeaning45 - That's good advice. The problem is, this site is what I'm actually more interested in. Like, when I heard about the Justice League trailer coming today, I was excited to watch it, but I was more excited to talk about here

man, today was just....

unreal.

If I was my 7 year old self right now, I would be hopping all over the place.

But the internet has made me cynical so I'm just "excited".

@NoMeaning45 - Oh no! Cynicism is the antithesis of geekdom.

@TheUnworthyThor - really? It seems that cynicism has been at the center of geekdom for awhile now.
TheUnworthyThor
TheUnworthyThor - 3/25/2017, 5:54 PM
@NoMeaning45 - That's what some want you to believe... but in this connotation a geek means an enthusiast and who likes to rain on the parade of enthusiasm more than cynics? Always trying to tear down the purity of the love that geekdom shares.

@TheUnworthyThor - well, I guess maybe its just the toxic behavior I've seen from many "geeks" that have brought me down.

For so long, the stereotype has been that geeks get bullied.

And now they do the same on the internet.
