It's been a while since we've seen anything from Netflix's upcoming He-Man and The Masters of the Universe CG animated series (we got a single announcement poster back in 2019), but thanks to some new promo art and a first look at some tie-in action figures (via Toyark.com), we have a much better idea of how several of the heroes and villains of Eternia will be depicted in the show.
The promo art features He-Man astride Battle Cat, while action figures for Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, and the muscle-bound hero have also been revealed.
It's worth noting that the He-Man and Battle Cat figures look a lot more like their classic counterparts and quite a bit different to the artwork, but the latter will likely be closer to the version of the character we'll see on screen.
He-Man has clearly been hitting the gym... maybe a little too hard!
“On the planet of Eternia, a young lost prince discovers the powers of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man, Master of the Universe! The classic battle between He-Man and evil Skeletor rages to new heights as both hero and villain forge new and mighty teams. A new generation of heroes fighting for the fate of us all. In the end, who will become Master of the Universe?"
This new series - which is separate to Kevin Smith's Masters of the Universe: Revelation - is expected to serve as a follow-up to the '80s animated favorite, and will "reimagine the Masters of the Universe classic tale with all-new storylines and a fresh take on the iconic characters."
The show is being executive produced by Adam Bonnett (Descendants), Christopher Keenan (Justice League), Rob David (Masters of the Universe: Revelation), Jeff Matsuda (The Batman), Susan Corbin (Voltron), and Arrow’s Bryan Q Miller.
