During the press for
Pacific Rim, it seems that one question Ron Perlman and Guillermo del Toro have been asked again and again is whether or not
Hellboy 3 will happen. Well, what about Hellboy's sidekick that many know as Abe Sapien? In an interview with
SciFiNow, Doug Jones (who portrayed Abe in the Hellboy movies and voiced him in the 2 Hellboy animated movies and video game) says that we may see something Abe related soon.
I’ve heard talk from Dark Horse Entertainment that that’s a possibility, whether it’s a movie franchise or a TV series even. In the Abe Sapien comic books and the BPRD comic-books he was a key character on his own, those are possibilities, I’ve heard a lot and all of it excites me because I would love to reprise Abe in any way shape or form, but mostly I would love to do it under the direction of Guillermo del Toro again.
Doug Jones also was asked via
Collider about
Hellboy 3:
I think Abe Sapien, from the Hellboy movies is the one [role] I'm most proud of. He's near and dear to my heart. After doing two feature films and two animated features and a video game, he and I have gotten very close, over the years. And hopefully, we can do a 'Hellboy 3,' one day.
Lastly with the San Diego Comic-Con coming up, this marks Hellboy's 20th Anniversity. Now while he was created in 1994, he was announced at the 93 Comic-Con. For the celebration, Dark Horse announced a
Hellboy Qee figure will be released that has Hellboy wearing a Comic-Con shirt. The figure is only $20 and a photo below.
So with
Marvel's Agents of Shield coming out, would you like to see a BPRD TV series starring Abe Sapien or a spin off movie involving Abe and the BPRD? Comment below. Peace and remember...
