LOST Alum Daniel Dae Kim Is In Talks To Replace Ed Skrein As Major Ben Daimio In The HELLBOY Reboot
We recently learned that Deadpool actor Ed Skrein had dropped out of the Hellboy reboot amid the whitewashing controversy surrounding his character, and now it looks like Daniel Dae Kim will replace him...
In an unprecedented move, Ed Skrein recently dropped out of Lionsgate and director Neil Marshall's Hellboy reboot once he was made aware that the character he'd signed on to play was Asian-American in the comics, and it looks like this bold decision has yielded the desired result.
According to THR, Daniel Dae Kim (LOST, Hawaii Five-O) is in negotiations to replace Skrein in the role of Major Ben Daimio; a former U.S. Marine who becomes a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defence. After a supernatural encounter, Daimio acquires the ability to transform into a jaguar.
Kim would join Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Milla Jovovich as the villainous Blood Queen, and David Harbour as the demonic hero of the title.
Hellboy is scheduled to begin shooting this month to meet an unspecified 2018 release date.
