If anyone knows me, you know I was excited to hear about the news that Legendary could produce
Hellboy 3. Of course there is a matter of getting Hellboy's film rights to make the movie but at the same time Mignola said Liongate told him before
Hellboy 2: The Golden Army came out that there would be no
Hellboy 3 so if the studio didn't want to make the film, they wouldn't keep the rights. Anyway it seems that
Hellboy 3 is still possible and the man trying to push it to make it happen is Hellboy himself, Ron Perlman. Recently in an interview, Perlman said this when asked about
Hellboy 3.
"[Hellboy 3] needs to be twice as big as Hellboy 1 or Hellboy 2. It's all of these oracles coming home to roost with these apocalyptic things taking place.
Guillermo's version of this resolve in the trilogy is epic in scope. Not just anybody can make this movie. It has to be somebody who's no stranger to this sense of scope.
For me to do Hellboy 3, it could kill me - in terms of physically demanding, for a guy my age, but it's worth it because anyone who sits and listens to Guillermo's version of how this thing ends is completely seduced. It's so theatrical and compelling and if you liked the first two movies in any way, shape or form, this is the ultimate one-two punch."
So it seems that even though
Hellboy 3 could be physically demanding for Perlman, he is willing to go through it. It also sounds as though
Hellboy 3 could be about Hellboy fulfilling his destiny which was previewed in the first 2 Hellboy films. So what do you guys think? Do you want to see Perlman back as Hellboy for one final go? Comment below. Peace and remember...
