Kim Kardashian, the wealthy socialite and reality TV star who is often accused of being "famous for being famous," recently indicated that she was planning to get more serious about her acting career (even expressing interest in playing a superhero), and has now lined up a main role in the next season of American Horror Story.
Details on her character are being kept under wraps, but Kardashian's Instagram video did reveal that AHS regular Emma Roberts will be returning, and that the 12th season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series will be titled “Delicate.”
The Keeping up with The Kardashians star does have a few acting credits to her name, having appeared in the likes of Tyler Perry's Temptation, Disaster Movie, and Dash Dolls. More recently, she voiced one of the characters in PAW Patrol: The Movie.
“Kim [Kardashian] is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” said Murphy. “Emma [Roberts] and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
THR has also provided a brief synopsis that should give fans a better idea of what to expect.
“The season is titled Delicate and is based, at least in part, on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition. Out in August from Sourcebooks Landmark, the novel is described as a gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens.”
