Andy Muschietti Reveals Director's Cut Of IT Is Coming "In A Few Months"

Earlier this year, director Andy Muschietti promised fans an extended Director's Cut of this year's hit horror film IT would be released, featuring an extra 15 minutes of extra footage for fans. But with next month's DVD/Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD release of IT approaching, there's been no talk of the Director's Cut. Thankfully Bloody-Disgusting reached out to the director and asked if it's still planned.

"Yes, but in a few months," Muschietti confirmed.

It's worth noting that next month's home video release will contain 11 Deleted/Extended scenes, including an alternate gag opening. It's assumed the Director's Cut of IT will have all of those same scenes added back into it, including, possibly, some other additional scenes deemed too disturbing - like one where Pennywise eats a baby.

For those looking to watch IT as soon as possible, it's currently available for digital purchase today. The 4K Ultra HD Bu-ray Combo Pack/Blu-ray Combo Pack/DVD arrive on January 9, 2018. It sounds as if the Director's Cut will also arrive sometime in early-ish 2018.
