Daniel Radcliffe In Final Talks To Play 'Igor' In FRANKENSTEIN

It was previously reported that Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe was "interested" in playing the hunchback in 20th Century Fox's remake of Frankenstein and it now seems as if that has paid off! The actor is said to now be in final talks for 'Igor' in the Max Landis penned film.

Daniel Radcliffe continues to distance himself from the Harry Potter franchise by taking on different roles, and it seems fair to say that you can't get much different than this! The British actor is reportedly in final negotiations to star as 'Igor' in the Paul McGuigan helmed Frankenstein which was written by Chronicle's Max Landis. The film is expected to shoot this fall, and while it's based on the classic Mary Shelley's 19th century novel, past reports have indicated that it will be a somewhat different take to what has come before. One description had Radcliffe's 'Igor' down as "pathologically dirty and dressed in old clowns clothing", while the plot promises to, "put a sci-fi take on this classic story about a creature produced through a scientific experiment."

Malkovich might just go for that as long as there's no one around to throw a beer can at his head.

I am SO PISSED RIGHT NOW. I thought there was hope that one Day that shitty series of "classic" Universal "horror" movies would one day cease to be how Frankenstien's monster was percieved in the collective consious. >:0

Igor was never a charecter in Fankenstien those dipshits at Universal made him up. as well as "Henry" Frankenstien being a doctor, Frankenstien Castle, The moster being a mindless brute, and pretty much everything else in those Shitty movies. Why does Hollywood keep punishing me for reading!!?

Hey genius -

1. There was no Igor in Frankenstein 1931
2. There was no character named Igor in ANY Universal Frankenstein movie
3. The Karloff monster was far from a mindless brute; he was quite cunning at times, tender, gentle and noble at others...in FAR less time than it took Shelley's monster to adjust to the world
4. If it weren't for the Universal movies, nobody would give a rat's ass about constantly redoing these films
5. There's no Castle Frankenstein in the 1931 film or its sequel
6. The novel is BORING AS SHIT for LONG stretches, and judging by your consisent misspelling of the title and main character I have a hard time believing you've actually read it much. It's certainly clear you haven't bothered to actually watch the films you're badmouthing.

I notice you referred to the creature as 'Frankenstein's Monster,'(or at least you meant to...) which DOES NOT come from Shelley...

Nice to see him taking a chance with the character of Igor, but sorry I wish Del Toro would be handling this and any monster movie from Universal Monsters. Johnson did a great job w WOLFMAN but Frankenstein has Del Toro written all over it.

1. Why do we need to see a Frankenstein remake agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiin?
2. Why is Igor in this? How about at least one of these remake's directors actually read the book. Or at least skim the wikipedia page.
3. @Karloff You don't think the 10+ movies del Doro has on his plate is enough?

@JohnnyKrypton I've seen countless reviews of the ridiculous frankenstien Movies. The Monster was not able to speak a word of any language until Polidory taght him in the SECOND MOVIE ("less time in FAR less time than it took Shelley's monster to adjust to the world" MY ASS!)the monster was not the least bit "CUNNING" in the stupid Universal films.

And there was in fact an Igor Charecter is the crappy Universal films He ended up permenatly swapping brains with the moster in one of the many unnessary sequeals.

OHh and just to be clear there was no Hunchback named "Fritz" in Marry Shelly's Frankenstien either
