The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Cillian Murphy is in advanced talks to join the cast of Paramount's A Quiet Place sequel as a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit, which seems like a role tailormade for the former fear-inducing Dark Knight trilogy villain.

He joins returning stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe, who will all reprise their roles from the 2018 blockbuster, which grossed over $340 million on its modest $17 million production budget.

John Krasinski will once again be in the director's chair, utilizing his own script. Andrew Form, Brad Fuller, and Michael Bay are attached as producers.

Filming is slated to begin this summer with a May 15, 2020 release date in mind.

I really hope he doesn't turn out to be the human antoganist of the story

@MalseMarcel - I agree. I like the battles to be within rather than having a human antagonist. It’s about survival

I think he should be cast as the invisible man.

I mean, I think he's a _____rated actor. Not overrated or underrated; he's good and everyone knows he is, so.

And apparently he's a thing with women. That, I don't get.

@Nebula - I think there are more people overall in entertainment who are actually fairly appropriately rated, it's just become so much more interesting apparently to do 'under' or 'over' (I especially can't stand 'overrated', the most overused word in the English language)

speaking of The Quiet Place, has anyone seen the trailer for the latest Netflix film "The Silence"? mama mia... it's so much a blatant ripoff I honestly don't know how a lawsuit hasn't happened yet.

Still waiting for him to return in TRON 3. He was uncredited in TRON LEGACY, and I just know they were setting up his character to appear in the Grid in the next film.

Sequel? Hollywood never fails to lessen itself. "A Quiet Place" is one and done. It's not an open ended story. I'll be happy to be wrong. However, think of movies a la "Jaws." The surprise, tension, fear, and, or scare are over. I have yet to see a sequel to a true terror/fearful movie that holds up to the original. I would include "Independence Day." It was not a great movie. It was entertaining. That story was best left finished.
