"Mommy's with the maggots now..."

The recent red band trailer for Evil Dead Rise seemed to go over pretty well with fans of the iconic horror franchise, delivering brutal, gruesome violence and plenty of unsettling imagery.

Now, a green band version has been released, and while it obviously tones down the gore to a significant degree, it's every bit as terrifying!

This pretty much serves as a brand-new trailer, with plenty of footage we didn't see in the original.

Evil Dead Rise is set to hit theaters on April 21, 2023. The horror flick will ditch the usual forest setting and move the gory action to the city, as "two estranged sisters’ reunion is cut short when flesh-possessing demons thrust them into a battle for survival."

Sam Raimi's microbudget original is still considered one of the best horror movies of all time, with direct sequels Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness as well as recent TV show Ash vs. The Evil Dead upping the comedic elements.

The well-received 2013 remake was a far more serious affair. We weren't sure which direction Rise would head in from a tonal standpoint, but based on these trailers, we don't anticipate it being a laugh riot!

This is old news… also the “remake” was actually an installment in the same continuity. Jane Levi’s character was originally going to team up with Ash down the road.

Hopefully this movie turns out to be GROOVY

@Rormachine

Hey, Ror. Quick question. I just wrote an article and placed it in Features. What does one have to do to get an article on main?

Just curious. Thanks man.

I'm very excited for Evil Dead Rise will be there opening day.

I saw 'M3gan' tonight its part 'Child's Play,' part 'Terminator,' and all fun The robot doll of your nightmares is a scream in director Gerard Johnstone's horror romp.

4 stars / 5 stars for me.

True fact: The term evil dead was coined decades ago when Gusto got real drunk and forgot he'd left all his frat brothers locked in his basement prank.
