Fede Alvarez talks EVIL DEAD 2; ARMY OF DARKNESS 2 update

                                                Fede Alvarez recently spoke to Shock Till You Drop about the sequel to last years surprisingly good Evil Dead remake. Alvarez revealed he is interested, but that he still hasn't arrived at the right idea. He also reveals some info on Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness sequel. He explained:

"Sam, Bruce and Rob Tapert and I are good friends and we talk to one another often and we're always coming up with new ideas and projects. Sam is teasing Army of Darkness 2, which he is working on the script with his brother, but at the same time Evil Dead 2 is something we definitely want to do at some point. But part of the reason I think the last one was successful is because Sam took his time to find the right team of people to do it. We took the time to find the right script and all of that. If you had Evil Dead 2 coming out the following year, it's just for the market, not because you've found the right idea. It takes time to find the right idea and that's what we're doing. It's always in the background and always in our heads. And every time I talk with Sam, we're bouncing around ideas to find what would be the perfect sequel."

Fede did a great job with the remake. The remake is on the same level of quality as the first Evil Dead, IMO.

I forget where I had read it, but they were planning on doing an Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness II, and then an eleventh film which would connect the two storylines.

No way! Rami for Army of Darkness II or GTFO! That's Rami's baby! It would be crazy of them to not have Rami, a brilliant director, helm yet another one in the franchise.

Ash is one of my favorite film characters of all time! Those scripts (written by Rami) are some of the best I've ever read (and watched, lol).

Plus, Alvarez' direction in the 2013 remake was just too good, man. It captured what I needed from the original films, while still making it his own.

So happy they aren't just doing a sequel for the money and making another one in just a year. I [frick]ing loved Alvarez's film and I hold it as high as the original Raimi films. They're all spectacular horror films.

I loved how the Rami trilogy dove deeper and deeper into camp but were still able to keep the horror elements. Funny as hell too!

Yeah Bruce is classic and that remake had its flaws but that was one of the better shock value horrors of late. A new fresh direction for what is a great premise. I cant wait for AOD2 and the new evil dead 2

I'd love for Bruce to return as Ash in the lead but if not the lead maybe a side character. I would love to see Army of Darkness 2 but i'm not exactly hyped for Evil Dead 2.
