The Shape returns on the first official poster for next year's new Halloween movie!

Star Jamie Lee Curtis shared the promo image over Twitter, giving us a first glimpse of the updated mask that'll once again be donned by legendary killer Michael Myers.

As you can see, the overall design is quite similar to the original mask from John Carpenter's classic, but it's been "aged up" a bit to convey the passage of time.

Curtis' Tweet also gives us some idea of what to expect from the plot, as she mentions that her character Laurie Strode will be waiting for Myers when he makes his way home to Haddonfield.

Halloween is set to slice its way into theaters on October 19.

Goddamn I miss when Will was funny. But yes I can't handle the awesome-ness.

You know that trailer is coming any day...maybe tomorrow. Equalizer's poster debuted yesterday and the trailer just hit. Crossing my fingers!

Been ages since we had a big slasher movie.

Honestly, on this poster he looks kind of like this Grandpa from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Shouldn’t Micheal need a walker or cane to get around by now? The guy should at least be in 60s by now.

@AnthonyVonGeek - I think he was supposed to be 21 in the original film, so that puts him at 61 in this. Plenty of 61 year old that are physically capable.

This is still my favorite Halloween mask, looked perfect to me:

@HeavyMetal4Life - literally the whole reason it's that way is last minute they went to buy whatever Halloween mask they thought was scary enough.

I really hope this is good, but I'm not liking what I'm hearing from the filmmakers. They say they want to be reverential to the original, and in the next sentence admit that they're "tweaking" the ending so it fits in with their plans for this.

@RorMachine - Yeah kind of feel the same way. Michael Myers is my all time favorite slasher (I dress up as him to scare people on Halloween, lol), so I'm looking forward to another John Carpenter Halloween film. BUT I don't like some of what I'm hearing, and I really don't like that they are ignoring all the films that came after the original.

I'll only see this if Busta Rhymes comes back and does more Kung Fu.

I hope they keep the brother/sister angle between Michael and Laurie. If not, why does he keep coming back to torment her?!
CurlyBill
CurlyBill - 4/19/2018, 8:01 AM
@superbigguy32 - I don't think they are because the director has said that they are ignoring everything that came after the first one and that plot twist was revealed in Halloween 2. I'm with you though I hope they keep it our give them someother connection because yeah it doesn't really make since of why he would keep going after her.
