New Evil Dead Movie In The Works?

New Evil Dead Movie In The Works?

Ash fans may have reason to get very excited, as a solid source reveals plans for what may be the early stages of a fourth Evil Dead flick..

This has been talked about for a while, with Director Sam Raimi on more than one occasion stating his desire to make a fourth Evil Dead, and going so far as to say he would get to one eventually. Well now may be the time, as Dread Central report..

Dread Central has it on good authority from a very reliable source that long-time Sam Raimi editor Bob Murawski (Army of Darkness; Spider-man, Drag me to Hell) has packed up and headed out to Detroit to begin work on the long talked about fourth entry into the Evil Dead franchise, which will be "a small indie thing like the first two."

The site also say that they have no word on whether this movie will be a direct sequel, a reboot or any other number of possible "Re's" that are so popular these days. But with Raimi at the helm I don't think we need worry too much. Raimi's Evil Dead movies.. particularly the first two although Army Of Darkness has it's fans(I'm not one of them), are pretty much legendary among gore hounds and horror genre fans. The mix of scares and comedy make for a seriously fun viewing experience, and fans across the world are crying out to see hero Ash(Bruce Campbell) wield his boomstick again. So I'm sure this news, if on the level, will make many people happy. Groovy.

Thanks to CBMer ALEXTownsend6 for the heads up.

If bruce is in it, I'll watch it. He lost like thirty pounds for burn notice, the fall of sam axe. It would be rad to see him get into rockin shape again.

I would love to see part 4, but not a reboot UNLESS Bruce is still playing Ash. This film would be garbage without Bruce in it.

Well, if you think about it Evil Dead 2 was kinda reboot of the first one anyway wasn't it? It just told the same story again and Ash didn't seem to remember anything from the first one..or am I missing something?

They were just going to reboot the whole thing and have Bruce in a cameo. With no involvement from Raimi, but if there is a fourth in the works that reboot will be canned hopefully.

Good god but have I been waiting patiently for this!

Evil Dead 2 has been my favorite horror movie since I was like 6, Army of Darkness, as well. Didnt actually see the 1st Evil Dead til I was about 10, but still theyve always been with me.

No Bruce, no f-ing movie!
Same goes for Sam & Ivan!

I'd rather see an Army of Darkness 2 with evil deadites that take over during the end of the world (one of the alternate endings to Army of Darkness.

Please let it be a sequel instead of a reboot. Without Bruce its not Evil Dead

@justsomeawesomeguy.

It's not Hollywood. Raimi said ti is going to be a small indy thing, like the first two. The third one was Hollywood, and it rocked.

Why is it always so posh to hate on Army of Darkness? That was the first installment I saw of that series when I was 9 when it was released and it blew me away. I still enjoy that flick.

More posh things to hate on if you're a "cool" nerd:
-X-men 3 (the only one that had action till First Class)
-The Fridge scene in Indy 4 (WHO CARES)
-Spiderman 3 (...okay, that one did suck)

The Evil Dead and Evil Dead II are two of my favorite horror films.
Army of Darkness, not so much. I like to replace that one with Drag Me to Hell.
Really hope this is actually finally happening.

It's not an Evil Dead movie if they don't have Campbell in it. Army of Darkness is one of the best cult classic films ever!

My idea for it has always been Evil Dead 4: School Spirit - Present day, small town USA, Ash is a high school shop teacher (which is great 'cause he's missing a hand) and the necronomicon pops up in the school library and some stupid goth kids unleash deadites.

lol, yeah I guess it's "posh" to dislike crap movies. I hold my hands up! Ah no Army is enjoyable enough, I just didn't find it as funny as the other two and the gore was really toned down. GTFO with X3 and Indy Fridge.
