New SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK Poster Reveals The Jangly Man In All Its Terror

Directed by André Øvredal, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark looks to bring the scares this summer with both amazing character design and practical effects. The film's new poster is no exception . . .

While many would say that the summer blockbuster season has been dry, August is looking to change that not only Hobbs & Shaw, but André Øvredal's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Produced by horror grandmaster Guillermo Del Toro, Scary Stories will no doubt shake up this lackluster season of movies.

Earlier today the film unveiled its latest poster, depicting one of the films more compelling creatures. The print focuses on the Jangly Man, one of the many monsters taken directly from Alvin Schwartz's books, unraveling itself in creepy fashion. Check it out:

@NoerGregorio - it's a generic looking pg-13 "horror" movie with awful looking cgi creatures and effects

I’m genuinely excited for this movie. That scarecrow itself looked crazy enough for me to buy a ticket.

I'm not familiar with this. Is this film a compilation of scary sories? Or it has one story to follow?

@Alex35
The former. It’s an anthology of scary stories based from a book in the 90s that gathered a bunch of tales and urban legends, and put into a three-volume book series. Highly recommended. The artwork from the books are where these monsters got their designs from.

@Alex35 - 100%, just look up the artwork. Some of those designs are the reasons I like the horror that I do. I'm 34 now and I still think some of them are just unsettling and horrible. Combine that with Del Toro and I'm on board all day. I don't care if the movie is bad, the monster designs are why I'm going.
