MOVIEGOD over at GEEKSOFDOOM.com has postulated that the supposed strange sounds being heard and recorded all over the planet are really just the fledgling stages of a soon to be marketing campaign for the new Godzilla movie. Now personally, unless it's a Polaroid, I don't trust anything I see (or hear) on film. So I think this guy is on the right track. Hit the link to read his theory and listen to the strange creepy sounds.

Yeah I heard about this. It's a stretch, but at least it's something.

I'm with Tea, if it's legit then it's probably for Pacific Rim since that's only a year and a half away. Not sure when Godzilla's coming out though, but it'll likely be late 2013/sometime 2014.

@teabag: I'm pretty sure that I last read that Godzilla was set for a 2013 release. I think it originally got pushed from a 2012 release because of the [frick]ushima meltdown. Executives didn't want to seem insensitive to the Japanese by capitalizing on anything radioactive related. Of course they're morons because that is exactly what made the first Godzilla movie so successful.

you've probably got the latest info....as with any movie in development the situation is extremely fluid and changing from heartbeat to heartbeat....New writer? So it's not David Goyer anymore?

Think outside of the box guys, what other movies are coming out this year or next year that has to do with monsters or aliens.

@teabag: Wow that sucks! Yeah I don't like Gareth Edwards either. MONSTERS probably wouldn't have been a bad movie if he had just disguised the fact that the whole movie is a metaphor for illegal immigration a little better. I'm afraid the new Godzilla movie will be too much social commentary and not enough city stomping.

They are coming, lol. But all jokes aside I'm not sure if this is some sort of hoax or viral marketing. But if it is viral its a pretty clever one at that.

interesting I suppose. I could see this possibly being either a hoax video rather than a viral video since Pacific Rim is still a year away and Godzilla has barely begun to film. I think the viral marketing for Pacific Rim would be a bit more clever with their marketing. Like pictures of the Pacific deep featuring strange images and sounds. Or the future career of being a Jaeger pilot in fake ads like Starship Troopers
