Producer Don Carmody Briefly Updates On SILENT HILL: REVELATION
We haven't seen that much from Silent Hill: Revelation, but now, producer of the 3D sequel to 2006 horror film based on the popular video game franchise, briefly addresses the status as well as a possible release date. Hit the jump for more...
In 2006, we got a big screen adaptation of Silent Hill, which was directed by Christophe Gans with Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean in leading roles. While I thought the film was pretty good in places with some great visuals and atmosphere like in the games, overall many found it dissapointing and didn't really "get" the ending. The potential is definitey there, so it's not surprising that we are getting another film. Title of the sequel is Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, and now Shock Till You Drop received an update from producer Don Carmody regarding the status of the movie, and a possible release date:
"Carmody told us the picture is locked. They are now working on the sound and score and talking with Lionsgate about a release date. The producer added that he is hoping for either a late spring or early fall release."
The 3D sequel (which is reportedly based on Silent Hill 3) is directed by Michael J. Bassett, which once again reunites Bean and Mitchell, and also features new cast that includes Adelaide Clemens as Heather Mason, Kit Harington, Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell.
For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
