Lionsgate’s TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s cellars.

With gruesome surprises in store for a whole new generation, TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D stars Alexandra Daddario, Dan Yeager, Tremaine ‘Trey Songz’ Neverson, Scott Eastwood, Tania Raymonde, Shaun Sipos, Keram Malicki-Sanchez, James MacDonald, Thom Barry, Paul Rae and Richard Riehle, along with special appearances from four beloved cast members from previous installments of the franchise: Gunnar Hansen (the original Leatherface), Marilyn Burns, John Dugan and Bill Moseley. The film is directed by John Luessenhop (TAKERS), from a screenplay by Adam Marcus & Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms, based on a story by Stephen Susco and Adam Marcus & Debra Sullivan and based on characters created by Kim Henkel and Tobe Hooper, and produced by Carl Mazzocone. Lionsgate presents a production and Main Line Pictures production.

i thought the actual plot was good, like the twist of her SPOLIER being related to Leatherface. Interesting to see what the sequel wil be, Heather and Leatherface team up?

should have gone with the greying hair one it makes sense since leatherface is pretty old by 2012 so yeah.

That's not really a twist or a spoiler. If she inherited the house from a relative she never knew and leather face is in the house wouldn't that insinuate they were related?

''Hey you killed all my friends 17 hours ago, but it's related, so it's cool''

''This town killed my family that I never knew.. my family who were directly responsible for killing a shit ton of people, what bastards''

''I'm a black cop, and for some reason I thought it would be a good idea to not shoot leather face when I had the chance''

''Hi, I'm the real-estate guy, I knew about the psycho-murderer in the basement, but made 0 effort to make ure the 5 young adults going in there were aware or vaguely prepared for that''

''Hi, we're the police and mayor, that cop that went into the killer's house while he's obviously there, whose phone lost connection, he doesn't need any back up. You know what else? He hasn't tried to contact us back in a few hours, let's radio him the specific details of what we're going to do so that we can give the murderer important details that can further the plot with no writing at all''

''I know, to make up for the lack of plot, characer development, or purpose behind the cheating boyfriend/bestfriend combo that never went anywhere, we'll give like 40 ass-shots in this movie!''

This was a giant pile of shit that I can't believe made it to theatres, never mind that it's getting a sequel.

I enjoyed the original and the 2003 remake, not really as horrors, just as simple fun to watch movies, with great characters. But damn, from what I've been hearing, the new one is not so great...

I kinda am a little surprised how this horror movie can simply forget it's going off an original film and make it act as if the characters haven't aged a damn bit lol leatherface in this film alone should be like late 60's early 70's at the latest he shouldn't be killing though...

he should be checking how to fix what I call:Jocelyn Wildenstein syndrome :P

I didn't get a good vibe the minute I heard this was a 'direct sequel' to the original, and that Heather inherits the house with leatherface....too many plot holes and from everything I read, my feelings were right. I don't plan on seeing this anytime soon, so I don't mind any spoilers, but I have a few questions: do they show leatherface without his mask? and if so, is he deformed in any way? is there any explanation why he wears the mask? and when they burn the house down, is it ever explained when it was rebuilt? do they show leatherface escaping the house burning by the townspeople?

Doesn't matter. Everybody will forget this film's existence in a month because that is how long it will be in theaters.
