An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world's most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Gareth Edwards directs Godzilla, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Oscar® nominee Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai, Inception), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), Oscar® winner Juliette Binoche (The English Patient, Cosmopolis), and Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine), with Oscar® nominee David Strathairn (Good Night, and Good Luck., The Bourne Legacy) and Bryan Cranston (Argo, TV's Breaking Bad).

@ MrQuantum

Godzilla was first a movie released in 1954. Marvel did some comics in the 1970's drawn by Herb Trimpe. The series lasted 24 issues. Not sure if there were any Japanese comics before that series but there definitely were after it.

1. Godzilla has had hyperbole posters since the very first film. (The Americanized King of the Monsters version starting it all) We obviously know
he isn't going to be this size, doesn't change the selling point that GODZILLA is going to be a huge film.

2. Asking why Godzilla walks upright or vertically is like asking why Bruce Banner doesn't die on the spot from an overload of Gamma Radiation. It's apart of the character's creative structure and iconic source material. Back then, the world thought dinosaurs like Tyrannosaur(or most two legged dinosaurs) walked upright before finally correcting themselves decades later. By that time, that miscorrected information had already become a part of Godzilla's iconic structure and character.(Plus with that view back then, it made the director's Godzilla man-in-a-suit fashion seem more natural in how Godzilla was presented) That's all you need to know about the subject.

Anyone remember that poster for Desolation of Smaug that showed Smaug's eye positioned behind a teeny-tiny Bilbo? Smaug wasn't even close to that size in the movie. It's just marketing, everyone makes their big bad seem MUCH bigger in the posters than it'll actually be in the film. This isn't anything new. In fact, I'd be insulted if they didn't do that with the King of Monsters, Godzilla himself!

Too much destruction.

I say this film needs more destruction.

Those GIFs remind me of the Arrested Development episode with the "Giant Mole vs Jetpackman" battle.

I'm not too psyched on Godzilla generally, but this film looks like it could be major good.

There was a chart released in the issue of Empire Magazine that covers the new movie.
This new Godzilla stands at 100 Meters. So he is officially the biggest. The one in the 90's is barely just under that.

@HankPymp

Close, nicely close. Gareth confirmed that this Godzilla is around 350-400 feet, so he's slightly 106 and above. That's the biggest. 100 meters isn't actually the biggest since the Heisei Godzilla and the Godzilla from Final Wars stand at 100 meters.
