Looks okay, I'm just not hyped to see this movie. I still think the original holds up fine. Gonna catch this one @ the $3.00 theatre or wait until DVD.

Looks B.A.

Even if it is a remake. I don't think one review from AICN spoils it, or think it's bad cause the guy liked "G.I. Joe"... [Rors Article]

I am perfectly satisfied with the first one. There was no need to make another. Greedy and uncreative Hollywood...let's just remake classics that don't need to be remade, because we can't come up with any new ideas. Meh...

This movie looks good, but Freddy's characters seems way off the freddy i remember looking at the trailer. the personalities are too different, what made freddy crougar is he talked a lot of shit before he killed you once you knew about his ass and he knew you knew about him. just not sure about the freddy character who sounds like the two face character from dark knight, even though i like that movie alot.

i think it looks so awesome! although jackie looks like hes playing the character a LOT darker than the original. one of the things i liked about freddy was that he had a twisted sense of humor. dont really see a whole lot of that here. saw all the others so i will definitely see this one! FREDDY RULES!!

I feel like I've been welcomed to my "new" nightmare by this franchise more times than I care to count...

It looks nice, but that is because it looks exactly like the old film. Look at the bathtub scene...I've seen this before and I don't understand why I need to see it again, with exactly the same cinematography / lighting / etc...

Money, money, money, money, money. And imagination, creativity, and new ideas be damned.

It Looks better then I thought it would be. I thought Jackie would made his voices creepier or somthing, but not sound like Rorschach. It looks good but I hope they didn't put all their effort on making a awesome trailer like Legion did. Does anyone know if its R rated?????

This remake is going to go nuts with cg dream sequences resulting in massive let downs to be had by all.

The trailer wasn't bad did look like they recreated allot of scenes like Simons said, bath, Freddie coming out of the wall. For the generations that dont know much about Freddie i can see it being good but for someone like myself, Im to use to the old school Cruger, its going to be hard to Top Robert Englund. The way he carried himself, his crraaazy ass laugh and best of all the way he told jokes right before he killed u.

Freddie Quote of the day:
Freddie comes out of the TV set, antenna's on head and all. After killing Zsa Zsa Gabor on a talk show.
"Want to be on PRIME TIME BITCH? Hears your big break on TV!"
Smashes Girls head in to Television set hanging from the wall.

The power glove joke was classic as well. lol

Looks good, but I think most of these movies are going to live in the shadow of Paranormal Activity for a Long time. But then again, P.A. isn't necessarily a horror movie, despite being one of the scariest movies ever made.

Everyone always seems to hate when classics are "remade" and i just dont get it. I've been a long time lurker around here and any time a remake or reboot happens people scream to the high heavens about how bad an idea it is. I loved the original Nightmare on Elm street! I recall it scaring the crap out of me when i was younger, however attempting to show it to my young sister when she kept inquiring about it i found it extremely lacking in todays standards and she totally didn't get what made it so "scary".

Though the story was awesome having it reshot (and i'm definately glad to see the old favorite scenes involve) gives the same story some new love and will hopefully give the same chills to the younger generation as the original did to me.

I know a lot of people are tired of remakes, reboots, and re-imaginings, but I can't help but be excited for this movie. The Elm Street movies stopped being scary after the first one when it just became about Freddy spitting out corny one-liners. I like the idea of a darker Freddy. I shouldn't want to root for the villain because he's funny which is what happened with the old franchise. Jackie Earl Hailey is incredible and was the perfect choice for this role IMO. I'll be in the theatre on opening night for this.

Hmmmm.... Sadly, I'm not digging it anymore. This trailer didn't show me anything that jumped out and made me think "oh thats cool." Also is the Rorschach voice the only thing he knows? Not intimidating at all it just reminds me of Bale as Batman. I'll wait for the DVD.

@SHHH See I thought the opposite I thought those lines were just horrendous. At least Englund could have delivered them and made them somewhat intimidating or entertaining.

2 differnt Freddy's original Freddy is just someone's creepy uncle 2 busy laughing at you and talking you 2 death.. Jackie Early is doin his own thing he heard Bale as Bat's and thought the same thing 2 deep..Atleast I could understand his word's his is not as deep..I have bad hearing also so..

blankofthedead - 2/25/2010, 1:44 PM
i think jackie's gonna be the movies weakest link.. its his exact rorchach voice and if they want to give him a realistic)less scary) burn victim face, why not a realistic burn victim voice?

lol that's exactly what I was thinking. I really don't like this at all though, it just doesn't seem like Freddy to me.
