Marvel Studios has released a behind-the-scenes featurette for the upcoming Werewolf By Night Halloween Special, which will introduce fans to a "monstrous new side of the MCU."

The video spotlights quite a bit of new BTS footage along with interview snippets with the cast, director Michael Giacchino, and Kevin Feige. We also get some new shots of Jack Russell's transformation into the lycanthrope of the title - although they seem to be keeping his "final form" under wraps for the time being.

No sign of Man-Thing here, unfortunately! Check out the featurette below, and let us know what you think.

Though critics are still embargoed from sharing their reviews, those in attendance for the recent Fantastic Fest screening were allowed to post their verdicts, and the special is currently sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with nine reviews counted.

By all accounts, Werewolf By Night doesn't skimp on the gore, and Giacchino recently revealed that he was actually expecting to be hit with a TV-MA rating.

“We had always assumed it would be TV-MA, but I wasn’t always involved with what was happening on that end in terms of ratings and all of that,” Giacchnio told The Hollywood Reporter when asked how Werewolf By Night managed to secure a TV-14 rating. “But I am sure you are absolutely right that the black and white did help keep us within a certain range.”

A new trailer for Werewolf By Night should be released fairly soon. For now, you can check out the previous teaser below.

Though very little has been officially revealed about this Special, based on what we see here, there's a very good chance the extensive plot leak that did the rounds earlier this year was accurate. We do know that the episode will run for 53 minutes and focus on Jack Russell (Gael Garcia Bernal), who, along with other monster hunters, arrives at Bloodstone Temple in order to compete for the estate’s most sought-after relic.

Werewolf By Night will premiere on Disney+ just in time for Halloween on October 7.

If this and BP:WF end up being as good as anticipated, Phase IV of the MCU is about to end on a pleasantly strong note, at least compared to the previously underwhelming (for most audiences) entries.

@WakandaTech - I fall on the side of mostly liking the phase 4 movies, but mostly disliking phase 4 shows. I’m not hopeful for anything but that Nick fury show.

@TheWalkingCuban - Same here. I only really liked WV and Loki. FatWS, Moon Knight are OK. The rest are mediocre imo.

Movie wise I liked NWH, MoM and Shang Chi. Thor and BW were OK.

@Fogs - I am appreciative of the moon tonight as a character and hero, I wish it didn’t drop the ball. It and Loki truly‘s were paradoxes to me because I didn’t think they were so bad, and yet they put me to sleep or just generally kept me uninterested and I mean that literally sleep because I am 39 going on 40. So it’s not just their own fault. And yet I have way more complaints about falcon and winter soldier, but that is a show of extremes. It has stuff I hate. It also had stuff I loved. That’s why it’s the second best to me, WandaVision being the best. Honestly I did not like what they did with Agatha at the end or the fake with Jeffrey Dahmer, but just about everything else was good. A little of the acting was subpar and that’s it. It made me realize though very early on that very regular villains we’re going to be a thing and I was right. Sword. The TVA. Khan the Conqueror showed their STUPIDLY saving the best for last. “But his cool look wouldn’t fit the story” then rewrite the mothercabbage. The flag smashers. The main villain bein Sharon boring Carter. In Hawkeye it was even some good guys, the larpers. Fisk was a paradox in that he had powers but dressed like my dad. Good thing I loved my dad. And that one there’s also the protagonist who with really good training in school got on the level of assassins and spies. I blamed that one on marvel in general. Moon Knight’s girlfriend not just being normal but being a super spy or whatever was cliché at that point. Ms marvel’s Villains were supposed to be djinn. Well dang thanks for telling me because otherwise I really wouldn’t know. And finally, the wrecking crew. Oh and of course the first vampire had no sunlight allergy. Oh don’t forget the Skrull elf lady looked like she got her costume at Walmart along with that whole support group. And let’s make the abomination a wuss. Dude, I’m sure I’m forgetting other things, but Disney+ is all about making the super stuff very not super. And that sucks.

@WakandaTech - That Munsters movie was like a porn parody with no sex or nudity.

AWFUL!

@MUTO123 - Was it that bad? lol Not out here in the UK until next month and was at lest going to give it a look, but if you say it's awful I might skip. Saw the IMDb score (don't normally trust that much) and it was below 5.

What was the main issue? Script, plot, acting? All three?

@Sabre81 - All 3.

@MUTO123 - It'll be a skip for me then! I'd hoped there could have been something worthwhile with this project, but I guess (once again) Rob Zombie is not a good option.

Cheers for letting me know and saving me some time!
