The Incredible Hulk is very much the black sheep of the Marvel Studios family. It's rarely mentioned and didn't perform particularly well commercially or critically and there are a number of reasons for that.
Behind the scenes, the movie was plagued with issues as star Edward Norton (Bruce Banner) performed a number of script rewrites and ultimately refused to help promote it after becoming frustrated with the process. As a result, Marvel Studios decided to recast The Hulk for The Avengers and Mark Ruffalo was unveiled as the new Jade Giant at Comic-Con when the cast was unveiled.
During the Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis last night, Norton reportedly took a shot at Marvel and The Incredible Hulk - again - when he refuted reports about being difficult on set by pointing out that all he wanted was a "better script." Needless to say, he won't be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and probably has no interest in superhero movies but are these remarks entirely justified?
