Jon Meets Kenneth - What Could it Mean?

Jon Meets Kenneth - What Could it Mean?

On his Twitter page yesterday John Favreau (director of Iron Man) stated that he met and had lunch with Kenneth Branagh (director of Thor). I instantly wondered if this could mean anything.

Obviously it could be nothing at all -- just a meeting of the minds, but maybe, just maybe they are synching up on something?!!

If anyone has an insider scoop on this meet and greet, let us know! Post here or in scoops!

Hmmm good find, they might be talking about Avengers, because if Jon Faverau is producing i'm guessin Ken will aswell, I'm thinking Joe Johnstone and Louis Letterrier will produce aswell, it makes sense.

Seriously tho' it's going to be great to have all the
great minds behind each separate movie producing and
overseeing the Avengers movie!

It'll get done right for a change!

@ Betty LOLOLOL At least none of their hollywood friendos would see them there together. Probably none of them would be caught dead in a TGI Fridays lol!

But anyway He's probably schooling him on a number of topics.
Since Favreau knows the comics and Branaugh doesn't, he could be explaining the massive place Thor occupies in the Marvel U, how important he is, all that.
If KB doesn't know that stuff already, then someone needs to tell him.

And I bet he's giving him pointers on the whole comicbookmovie realism thing. Maybe how to avoid physics foibles and such.

this movie! Good luck to whomever it is!!!

Cool news, hopefully it means Branagh will have some sory of producer credit with Avengers, which is exactly what I want, the directors of the solo films coming on to be producers, executive or not, on the Avengers.

I want them all to be solo-film directors to be producers because I want the Avengers to still keep in line with some of the characterizations of Thor, Iron Man, Cap (not as much for Cap, since his story is a changing to the times one) and have a similar tone that is in line with the directors' adaptations. I mainly want consistency with the movie.

"Jon and Kenneth Plus Avengers", who's with me?

IMDB has Chris Hemsworth listed as appearing in Iron Man 2, so maybe we will see a cameo of Thor? In Iron Man 2?

??? OH SNAP @ THEHAWK is that true man? ha. I knew it. I KNEW Thor would be the cameo in that movie.

Anyway you can't trust IMDB at all but that would be SO GREAT.

oh btw lads..

This is off topic and all but I just got back from watching the movie Paranormal Activity. damn that was fun, and bloody intense!

First of all I am not as critical of Blaire Witch style movies as some people. It's kind of lame and unbelievable at times I admit.
But on this movie, once I got over that it was a wild ride indeed.
The audience was interesting.
They must have been having a special rude person's screening because there were all these losers talking out loud and making noise. A group of people that had been shouting over the movie left as soon as the actors started talking about demons.

This elderly couple hobbled in, and then about 45 minutes into the movie they practically RAN out. I'm for real.. it was out of fear. They were like slamming into stuff and jostling around to get out as quick as they could.
It was an interesting trip to the pictures at the very least.

Avengers movie doesn't mean shit unless the Hulk is in it. Norton or not, he has to be. Obviously would be cooler if he was, such as with an Ultimates storyline, but Hulk absolutely is a major player in the Avengers story. Perhaps a small Norton cameo at the end of Avengers as Hulk takes off from the team which would subsequently lead into Hulk 2

Multi: Yeah don't you remember? Johnston and Favreau used to have a thing together, but they ended it a little while ago. Now Favs has moved on to Branagh, apparently, and Johnston I guess still has residual feelings left over, and now Leterrier is getting jealous because of that, it's all so crazy!

The REAL reason behind the Favreau/ Branagh lunch:

Favs: Hey. Kenny?
Branagh: Jon, good to hear from you. How's editing going?
Favs: It's good, it’s good.
Branagh: Yes, well good. I saw Couples Retreat last weekend.
Favs: Oh, you saw that piece of crap, huh?
Branagh: I did. I did.
Favs: Yeah, Vince needed to pay for his boat. I needed a vacation, so what the hell, you know.
Branagh: HA! Why do you think I did Harry Potter.
Favs: What do you say I take you to lunch to make up for it?
Branagh: Sure, sure.
Favs: You know what'd be funny?
Branagh: What's that?
Favs: We go to lunch and then check the fanboy sites afterward to see the comic geeks go ape shit thinking we were plotting crossover shit with Thor and Iron Man. I’ll even Tweet it up to stir the pot.
Branagh: HAHA!!! They wouldn't.
Favs: Are you kidding? They'll go nuts. Trust me I'm old hat at this stuff, baby. They'll shit their cornflakes, seriously.
Branagh: Oh, Jon. You're so money.
Favs: You know it.

@ multi

i heard it was under the bleachers!!!!

@ tea

LOL

@ mulder

so paranormal activity is worth seeing then?? i'm like you, i don't mind the "shaky cam" style movies at all. blair witch was an awful movie, but only because the movie sucked, not because of the camera. and i personally LOVED cloverfield, and didn't mind quarantine too much either!

and for the loud people in the theatre, i know what you mean. me and my girlfriend went to see drag me to hell when it was in theatres, and we had to walk out because of people screaming at the top of their lungs every 5 minutes for things that weren't scary at all. these people wouldn't scream that loud if their own lives were actually in danger. its so irritating. i was mad, because we only got about 30 minutes into it, and i was REALLY enjoying it! (drag me to hell that is) now i have to wait for it on dvd.
