As promised with yesterday's big tease, the new Iron Man 3 poster has been fully unveiled featuring Don Cheadle’s James “Rhodey” Rhodes while donning his Iron Patriot suit of armor. With more character posters likely to be revealed soon, expect the next trailer next month, March 5th!

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968. “Iron Man 3” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures & DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing & Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee & Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film hits May 3, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. I have to think that Marvel Studios will do a Iron Patriot/War Machine film one day.

I know it will be cool, I've always known it will be cool. Anything with War Machine in it is cool. But, I'm still annoyed by the fact that they actually had a teaser for a poster. I mean, come on. That thing shouldn't happen again.

I'm not really seeing anything different with the Iron Man posters.

I'm betting they do a regular War Machine version of this poster at some point.

@JatevinM, I agree. It's cool and all that, but...disappointing after the tease thing. Why tease a basic poster? It ought to have something worth revealing. And since Rhodey's name is printed clearly on that armor, and they already showed him in the suit in the Superbowl spot, seeing him in RW&B isn't a reveal.

I wonder if they'll actually call him Iron Patriot. He wasn't actually called War Machine in IM2, there was only a tip of the hat to the name when Tony said "You wanna be a war machine? Fine!"

Good God - it's social media marketing - just another way for them to get people to tune in to their facebook posts. Yes it's cool and ok, maybe it didn't need a teaser but it was effective - it got everyone on here talking...

ruadh@ It just doesn't seem special because all of the posters from all three movies have been just about the same.

@Paragon79 in the prequel comic Tony refers to him as War Machine. Rhody says, "You are sticking with that name? I thought that was a joke."

I do love the poster, though. The colors are very well composed, there. But still, it isn't such a big thing that deserves its own teaser. (And I'm speaking as a War Machine fan.) I surely hope this won't happen again in the future.

Terrance howard missed out smh. Honestly..who wouldn't want to be war machine and have his own poster and where the suit and all. G, I'm tellin u, marvel could have payed me 5 dollars and I would have done the movie. Hell I'd do it for free. These type of roles have to be more about the experience then the money. But hey ppl got eat and pay bills lol. Don cheadle is gonna own! Love house of lies.

Just like with every action movie poster - Cloudy background, sparks falling debris, ad a weapon.

Nice poster, looking forward to the Iron Patriot, but that didn't need a teaser. In fact, posters for movies should never have teasers, it's pushing a bit too far.

Terrence Howard did not want more money than RDJ. In the original contracts, Terrence Howard agreed to a set figure, which at the time was higher than RDJ's figure. When Iron Man II came around, RDJ got the much deserved raise while Marvel wanted Terrence Howard to take a pay cut. He did not want to take a pay cut, opting to honor the contract that he signed and they got rid of him. Howard was made to appear like the villain when in fact it is Marvel that has a history of trying to screw actors out of money. Samuel L Jackson once mentioned that Marvel has an issue with paying actors before signing the multi movie deal as Nick Fury. Micky Rorke also commented on how Marvel was only going to pay him a silly $300k for his role as Whiplash. So its clear that Marvel has more issues than Time Magazine, but people tend to forget Marvel's shady history every time a new movie comes out.

@BlackHulk

That's correct, it was the studio's fault for hiring him before their star and agreeing to give him that much. They obviously really do have an issue with paying actors. Hopefully that has changed after Avengers.

BlackHulk considering the fact that Mickey Rourke wasn't really in the movie as much as he should have been....that $300k was what he earned.

ruadh - 2/13/2013, 9:48 AM
@JatevinM

Without knowing how much of his stuff was cut, but remembering that a lot of it apparently was...Mickey Rourke probably earned more than that for what he shot. Actors are paid for how much they work, not what ends up in the final cut.
