Marc Maron has never shied away from making his thoughts known about superhero movies, and despite starring in Joker, he definitely doesn't appear to be the biggest fan of the genre. That's fair enough, but the comedian and actor has now confirmed that he will lend his voice to Lex Luthor in the upcoming animated movie, DC League of Super-Pets.
Something about the project has clearly appealed to him. Plus, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson voicing Krypto and an all-star cast that includes Keanu Reeves, John Krasinski, Keven Hart, Kate McKinnon, Natasha Lyonne, and Diego Luna, it's fair to say that he's in good company!
Very little is known about DC League of Super-Pets beyond that, though we do know that Jared Stern penned the screenplay and is co-directing with Sam Levine.
A release date has been set for May 20, 2022, and while there's still no sign of a trailer, it has been confirmed by Warner Bros. that "new content" from the movie will be revealed at DC FanDome. This movie is almost certainly going to be primarily aimed at a younger audience, but that doesn't mean longtime DC Comics fans won't be able to have fun with it, and we're excited to see more.
As for Maron, it's easy to imagine him doing a great job with Luthor (likely putting a comedic spin on the iconic Superman villain). Whether he'll have a "Super-Pet" of his own remains to be seen!
