DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS: New Tie-In Book Reveals The Entire Plot Of The Movie - SPOILERS Follow!

A new tie-in book for DC League of Super-Pets has revealed the movie's plot from start to finish, and while it sounds like it could be a fun movie for kids, there's nothing here likely to break new ground.

With The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom pushed to 2023, this year doesn't currently look as exciting for the DC Extended Universe as it once did. We can't complain about Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods being on the horizon, of course, while there's also DC League of Super-Pets.

Based on what we've seen in the trailers, it doesn't look like the animated movie will blow our minds, but there's always a chance it could surprise us. Now, a tie-in kid's book reveals DC League of Super-Pets' entire plot, and while it's a relatively by the numbers story, we're now a little more intrigued to check this one out (even if it is basically The Secret Life of Pets with superpowers).

We're guessing the movie will feature a few more references to the wider DC Universe, not to mention cameos from a lot of familiar heroes and villains. We also see more of the Justice League here.

The movie's ensemble features John Krasinski, Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, Keanu Reeves, and Marc Maron, but it's Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart who will seemingly take centre stage as Krypto the Superdog and Ace the Bat-Hound. In the latest trailer, we see their respective pooches alongside iconic DC Comics superheroes Superman and Batman.

"In 'DC League of Super-Pets,' Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side," reads the synopsis. "When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes."

Jared Stern wrote and directed DC League of Super-Pets, and it's currently set to be released in theaters on May 20, 2022. Check out this spoilery recap of the plot in the Instagram post below:

should have used jumpa instead of a pig

some of the stuff in this looks good, like most of the designs and some casting choices

although in the trailer, when they introduce the other pets, eh...

really krasinski and johnson, id be 100% willing to watch them in a Superman and Krypto animated movie, there scenes at the start of the trailer actually got me to reconsider if this could be good or not. although once the other pets showed up yeah not so sure

Coming off the success of The Batman, DC are really powering forward with... League of Super pets. It might be a good movie, but it's more evidence that DC really have no plan at all.

@TheManWithoutFear - while I agree that they have no coherent plan (honestly I don’t even think Discovery will even have a legitimate plan for DC) I’m ok with this movie being catered to a younger audience.
