RUMOR: Warner Bros. May Be About To Significantly Increase Its DC FILMS Output

As of right now, there's only one DC Comics adaptation hitting theaters in 2018 and that's Aquaman. However, that could be about to change with a significant increase of DC Films from Warner Bros.!

There are a lot of different DC Comics adaptation in various stages of development with everything from Gotham City Sirens to Black Adam and Man of Steel 2 in the works. However, the vast majority of these movies don't have release dates and that has proved to be frustrating for comic book fans.

With only Aquaman on the way in 2018 due to the delays suffered by The Batman and The Flash, Warner Bros. is a long way behind Marvel Studios in terms of output but that may be about to change.

According to The Wrap's Umberto Gonzales, the studio may be about to increase the amount of DC Comics movies they release per year with the plan to now get three or four into
theaters. "A lot of people have been asking me 'What’s the next movie in 2018?' I know for a fact that DC is trying to get three to four movies made a year going forward." What those will be is unclear, but it seems Comic-Con will bring some big news. "If I were you, I’d make sure I’d be inside Hall H this summer."

The success of Wonder Woman is bound to have boosted the studio's confidence and with no Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, Warner Bros. is a studio in desperate need of tentpoles so this increase makes sense. What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Let us wait for SDCC then! :D
And oh boy, SDCC is the ultimate, the BIGGEST convention for nerds.
It's always been about comics, but slowly...it became more and more about comic book movies, and what these big Studios would announce and show, you just need to mention "Hall H". Nuff said.

But.

This time, after a loooong time, i'm actually more excited about comics than CBMs, and by that i mean: Doomsday Clock

Believe me, i AM very much excited for whatever they could show, JL/Ragnarok Trailers etc...
But NOTHING can top my hype for this shit, because never in my life i have been this much excited over something!
This November is going to be all about Superman, fam.

@billnye69 -
Oh boy, if you mean the golden fella from Morrison' DC One Million or the one from All Star Superman that would be....something!

Like, if we want to talk about brute force, than maybe he's the only one that could defeat Manhattan!
I doubt Geoff will use that character though.
I believe Superman's main weapon will be HOPE!

@Krav - I agree. That's the thing that scares me the most when people say "They should just reboot this". Because the studio doesn't have to bring Geoff Johns on for the reboot, and they need to keep Geoff Johns, regardless of what they do. Otherwise we get a whole Universe of Trailer Park's Suicide Squad or the Theatrical Edition of Batman v Superman.

why certain editors/reporters only mention Marvel or Warner when it comes to cbms?

Fox is the third force doing a huge push with superheroes: Deadpool, New Mutants, X-Men, X-Force...

but for some reason its all about Warner vs Marvel.
Ok

@gambgel - cuz no one trusts fox's core xmen films, sure they made logan and deadpool, but tho bur apart from those most had a divisive reception at best. Also even DCEU beata fox at continuity, marvel has crafted their mcu cannon carefully, while fox throws a lot of continuity shit at the wall to ser what sticks.

@gambgel - I'm actually most excited for what Fox is gonna bring to the table, as it seems they are moving into a more filmmaker-friendly/chance-taking direction.

What a time to be alive for a comic book fan....
Just look back at...10 years ago.

@Doomsday8888 - right there with ya. In the 90s all we had was Batman and Superman. Now we have a lot of characters that people never dreamed would come to life on screen.

@Doomsday8888 - 10 years ago I was watching an Iron Man trailer thinking "Looks pretty cool. Hope it's good." Now look at Marvel lol

@Doomsday8888 - agree to the fullest buddy. Actors and directors who don't like the genre just don't get it. We have been waiting years for technology to catch up to comic book writers imaginations.

@RancidBane - Actually, all you had from DC in the '90s was Batman in the arena of live-action feature films!

But we did get Spawn, Blade, Tank Girl, Barb Wire, Darkman, The Matrix, Lois and Clark, M.A.N.T.I.S., Superboy, The Flash, Generation X, The Death of the Incredible Hulk, Nick Fury:Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Mask, Men In Black and The Crow!!

10 years ago we also got X3 and FF2 from Fox as well as Spidey 3 from Sony. That proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that left to their own devices the other studios disrespected both their audience as well as the source material. Since that time, with very few exceptions, both Fox and Sony took a collective dump on our childhoods every time they rolled one of these half baked turds out onto movie screens everywhere. And let's not forget Daredevil, Electra, The Punisher (twice) and Ghost Rider (twice).

The MCU forced those other studios to clean up their act to some degree and gave us well made movies that respect the source material.
