With just a day or two to go (depending on where you live) until Justice League is released, there's pretty much no time at all until we get to see the team in action. Now, some fresh details have surfaced courtesy of production designer Patrick Tatopoulos in regards to what Steppenwolf will be getting up to and, as suspected, he will indeed be calling Chernobyl home when he travels to Earth via Boom Tube.
"Ultimately, the most fun I have in films is when I can create a world from scratch - like the Parademons' world," he says, presumably referring to a version of Apokolips. "The Parademons and Steppenwolf are based in this abandoned nuclear plant in Russia. Once Steppenwolf unleashes his alien tech, it begins to transform into his world, like a cancer living in this abandoned power plant."
So, we now know that Steppenwolf's plan is to transform Earth into a new Apokolips, a pretty straightforward endeavour but one which should be fun to see play out. That's probably what he needs the Mother Boxes for and having him set up base in an abandoned power plant obviously means the team is free to take the fight to him without any civilians getting in the way as they did in Man of Steel.
