KICK-ASS Actress Chloe Grace Moretz Has No Intention Of Reprising The Role Of Hit-Girl
We recently found out that Kick-Ass director Matthew Vaughn has big plans for the characters first introduced in the pages of Mark Millar's comic series, but Chloe Grace Moretz wants no part of them...
It was recently revealed that Matthew Vaughn was in the process of setting up a new studio and was planning planning a new Kick-Ass movie, along with a solo Hit-Girl outing which would either focus on an older Mindy Macready, or flashback to her younger years growing up under the tutelage of Big Daddy.
Vaughn didn't specify if he intended to recast Hit-Girl or not, but if he was thinking about getting Chloe Grace Moretz back on board to play the character, he's out of luck.
While speaking at the Provincetown Film Festival (via Indiewire), the Suspiria actress said she had no interest in returning to the role after how the critically panned Kick-Ass sequel "was handled."
“I love the franchise, I think the first movie was really, really special. I wish the second one had been handled in a little bit of a different way. Because I think we were all kind of looking forward to something a little different than what happened with it all. As much as I love the character of Hit-Girl, I think she lives and survives in Kick-Ass, and I kind of want to keep her there.“I kinda wanna keep everyone’s mind in Kick-Ass. So I don’t think there will be a Kick-Ass 3, at least I don’t think with Hit-Girl in it.”
While this new Kick-Ass movie will most likely be a soft reboot with Patience Lee under the mask, if Vaughn does decide to go with an older take on Mindy for the Hit-Girl spinoff then it's a shame Chloe won't be a part of it.
Then again, she may feel differently once the wheels are in motion and there's a script.
What do you guys think? Any interest in a Hit-Girl movie without Moretz?
