Well, this is an interesting development. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that music icon and Academy Award-winner Sir Elton John is currently in talks to join the cast of 20th Century Fox's upcoming Kingsman sequel, which is titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle. A deal hasn't been finalized just yet, but if it closes, he'll join a cast that has already added Julianne Moore (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2), Halle Berry (X-Men: Days Of Future Past), and Pedro Pascal (Game Of Thrones). Details on his potential role are unavailable, but there is a chance he may just be playing himself.

It was rumored back in 2013 that director Matthew Vaughn was eyeing John for a cameo in Kingsman: The Secret Service, but since it didn't work out then, it looks like he finally got his guy for the sequel.

The upcoming 2017 follow-up will be headlined by returning stars Taron Egerton and Colin Firth. Other returners from the first installment include Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson, and Edward Holcroft.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

A spy organization recruits an unrefined, but promising street kid into the agency's ultra-competitive training program, just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius.

Director: Matthew Vaughn
Taron Egerton as Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin
Colin Firth as Harry Hart/Galahad
Julianne Moore as Poppy
Halle Berry as Ginger
Mark Strong as Merlin
Pedro Pascal as Jack Daniels
Sophie Cookson as Roxanne "Roxy" Morton
Edward Holcroft as Charlie Hesketh

Sir Elton is a living legend. He would be an awesome addition to this cast. I'm sold as long as he remembers: oxfords, not brogues.

I just had an epiphany. Elton John would make an amazing Bond villain. I mean, those glasses and boa's could really do a lot for characterization.
