Friday's "Disney+ Day" saw Disney share a whole heap of announcements and sneak peeks, but the event was understandably main evented by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios didn't disappoint with a series of major new reveals; some we'd heard rumblings about in the weeks and months leading up to this event, while others came as a complete surprise. They all point to a bright future for the MCU on this streaming service, though, and it's clear Kevin Feige plans to continue expanding this franchise to the small screen in unmissable ways.
There was a lot to digest on Friday, of course, and that's why we've now rounded up all the biggest reveals for you in one place. From upcoming TV shows to fresh story details and even a few intriguing sneak peeks, there's a lot here that will get you excited for Phase 4 and beyond.

7. Spider-Man Gets An MCU Animated Series
We've been waiting for news on a Spider-Man animated series that isn't aimed solely at toddlers, and it was finally confirmed during Friday's Disney+ Day that the streaming service will soon be home to Spider-Man: Freshman Year.
Following Peter Parker "on his way to becoming Spider-Man in the MCU," it's said that we'll be taken on "a journey unlike we've ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots." That all sounds great, and we're excited to learn more about what the web-slinger was up to before that fateful day Tony Stark tracked him down in Captain America: Civil War.
We don't know whether this means we'll see the MCU's take on key events like Uncle Ben's death and how Peter gained his powers, but just watching him swing into action in that homemade suit should be fun. Jeff Trammell has been tapped to serve as the show's Head Writer.
6. Agatha Harkness, Echo, And Ironheart TV Shows
There were definitely some great announcements that came our way on Friday, but for the most part, Marvel Studios was just confirming past reports about shows they're said to have in the works.
The most recent, of course, was Agatha: House of Harkness. Just like the trades said, Kathryn Hahn will return as her character from WandaVision with Jac Schaefer back as executive producer and Head Writer. Ironheart, starring Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man, is also now officially in the works.
Most intriguing is Echo. The character, played by Alaqua Cox, will make her MCU debut in Hawkeye. In the comic books, she has close ties to Daredevil and The Kingpin, and it's definitely a surprise Marvel Studios would give the hero her own series. Well, unless we'll see some big guest stars...
5. Ms. Marvel Will Arrive Sooner Than Expected
Prior to Disney+ Day, it was widely reported that Ms. Marvel wouldn't arrive on Disny+ until late 2022. Fans were definitely surprised as we originally expected to see Kamala Khan's MCU debut this year, but there was some good news to be found during the streaming service's event.
While a specific date wasn't shared, we do now know that Ms. Marvel is heading our way next summer.
Some footage was shown to fans in that special on Disney+, and it was made clear that Kamala is a huge Captain Marvel fangirl. A glimpse of her powers also confirmed reports that the teenager will utilise Green Lantern-style energy abilities rather than her comic book "embiggening."
4. More Marvel Zombies
We knew this was coming because several of the creatives involved with the series have talked about it, but What If...? season 2 was made official during Disney+ Day on Friday.
There was more animated news to be found, though, including the fact we're getting a Marvel Zombies series. We don't know if this is going to be set in the same reality we paid a visit to in What If...?, but it seems somewhat likely given the major cliffhanger that particular episode left us with (Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Scott Lang's head were headed to Wakanda to unknowingly face a zombie Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet in hand).
The official description reveals we'll follow a new generation of heroes battle against an ever-spreading zombie scourge, while What If...?'s Bryan Andrews will be directing the action.
3. Moon Knight Embraces MCU Mythology; She-Hulk Smashes
Footage from both Moon Knight and She-Hulk promise two very different TV shows, though we're equally excited for both. Jennifer Walter's transformation has only been teased, but the series appears to have an unexpectedly quirky tone that should line up nicely with her early comic book adventures.
Of course, the big talking point for many fans was the fact The Hulk's arm had somehow healed since the events of Avengers: Endgame...unless Jennifer gained her powers during that five-year gap. Either way, we also got to see Bruce Banner looking perfectly healthy, so perhaps scientist cures himself?
We'll have to wait and see, but when it comes to Moon Knight, the show looks bonkers in all the right ways. The synopsis says the "multiple identities who live inside [Marc Spector] find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt." That sounds epic.
2. Nick Fury Gets A New Look For Secret Invasion
Secret Invasion stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos - characters who first met in Captain Marvel. The crossover comic event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years, according to official plot details shared by Marvel Studios, though we still don't know what that means for the wider MCU.
However, a sneak peek at the series confirms the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director is getting a new look!
As you can see, Fury has grown out his goatee into a beard and no longer seems to be wearing his trademark eyepatch. We don't know what he's been through since he last appeared, of course, and his time in outer space with the Skrulls could have changed the character in fundamental ways.
1. X-Men '97
For a good year or more, we've been hearing rumours that Marvel Studios might be working on reviving X-Men: The Animated Series. It was a little hard to believe they would return to the past (especially as the team will soon be rebooted for the MCU), but knowing this is something fans desperately want, Kevin Feige and company really are bringing the show back as X-Men '97.
Beau DeMayo will serve as Head Writer and executive producer on X-Men '97, while Jake Castorena and Charley Feldman have been tapped as supervising director and supervising producer respectively. Don't fret, though as X-Men: The Animated Series writers Eric and Julia Lewald and director Larry Houston will all return to the beloved property in consultant roles.
Expect a mixture of new and returning cast members for the show, though we're not anticipating seeing anything for a while as the show isn't expected to arrive on Disney+ until sometime in 2023.
