The launch of DC Studios has seen the DCEU as we know it reach its end. In Ben Affleck's case, he's had one foot out of the door for a while now, deciding after the release of Justice League to ditch his plans to star in and direct The Batman.
Something changed along the way, though, as the actor returned to shoot additional scenes for Zack Snyder's Justice League, a role in The Flash, and even a cameo in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The latter may end up on the cutting room floor, but we have at least one more appearance from Affleck's Dark Knight before he's likely done for good.
Recently, we've heard that James Gunn and Peter Safran are hoping the actor will step behind the camera to direct a future DC movie. Now, though, it sounds like the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be beckoning for Affleck!
According to reliable insider @MyTimeToShineH, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star has "had talks with Marvel Studios to play Dario Agger in an upcoming project."
While it's unclear how far along those discussions got (and whether they're continuing), this would be a fantastic role for the actor. In the comic books, Agger is the corrupt President of Roxxon Energy Corporation and a human with the ability to transform into a Minotaur.
He's primarily a Thor villain, and clashed with The Mighty Thor, leaving many fans under the belief that was who Christian Bale would play in Thor: Love and Thunder. Agger has also clashed with The Hulk, so it's possible Affleck could appear in something like the rumoured World War Hulk project rather than a future instalment of the Thor franchise.
As with any rumour, it's best to take this with a pinch of salt for now, but we'd love to see it happen.
What do you guys think?
