Whether you're a fan of The MCU or not, there's no arguing with the fact that Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige has steered the shared superhero movie universe to unprecedented success, and this great achievement has now been recognised by The Producers Guild of America.

Feige is to be presented with the 2019 David O. Selznick Achievement Award during the 30th Annual Producers Guild Awards on Jan. 19, 2019 at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles.

Since taking over as president of Marvel Studios in 2007, Feige has taken The MCU from strength to strength, continually churning out box office juggernauts such as Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther.

“To join so many of my heroes and mentors in receiving the David O. Selznick Award is one of the most meaningful experiences of my career, and I’m truly thankful to my colleagues in the Producers Guild of America for this recognition,” said Feige. “I want to also thank my Marvel Studios family, who have been with me every step of the way and without whom I would never have had this amazing journey.”

Previous recipients of the David O. Selznick Award include last year’s honoree Charles Roven, as well as David Heyman, Stanley Kramer, Billy Wilder, Clint Eastwood, Jerry Bruckheimer, Brian Grazer, Laura Ziskin, Kathleen Kennedy & Frank Marshall, Scott Rudin, and Steven Spielberg.

@Menks123 - And he has done all of this with no narcotic abuse, no sexual allegations, and no corrupt scandals. This man is a national treasure. Take note Harvey Weinstein.

@Menks123 - Exactly. I cannot wait to see what the former Fox characters will bring in the next 10 years. With Feige at the helm, I am not worried one bit.

"Whether you're a fan of The MCU of not". That phrase indicates a controversial or divisive franchise which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what the MCU is.

I'm not sure if it's the right place for it.

@Jeight8

That phrase indicates that not everyone loves it. Doesn’t mean that it’s an overall divisive franchise or controversial at all.

I have friends who love some Marvel movies and those same friends think others are shitty.

I mean I’m kind of the same way. Not everyone is going to love every single movie. But the franchise itself is strong af.

@Jeight8 - Not at all, merely alluding to the fact that not everyone loves the movies... because they don't! Not suggesting The MCU is "divisive."

He’s earned it and is well on his way to being a legend in the industry, if he isn’t one already.

This guy has to be the Bruce Lee of movie producers. He's actually changed the medium. Every film that comes out now is trying to build a "universe" franchise.
