MCU Rumor Roundup: Bullseye In Thunderbolts* Sequel, Moira MacTaggert X-Men Casting, And More

In this latest roundup of Marvel Cinematic Universe rumors, we have some potential updates on Marvel Studios' plans for a Thunderbolts* sequel, an actress in the running to play Moira MacTaggert, and more.

The first Thunderbolts* movie went over pretty well with fans and critics, but it didn't exactly make a big impact at the box office. Even so, it seems Marvel Studios might be planning a sequel - featuring an all-new team.

The original roster, aka the "New Avengers," will return in Avengers: Doomsday, but The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez hints that a potential sequel could introduce a new team of actual villains (or reformed villains), including Daredevil: Born Again's Bullseye (Wilson Bethel).

In the comics, the first incarnation of the Thunderbolts were former members of the Masters of Evil, recruited by Baron Zemo to pose as heroes after The Avengers and The Fantastic Four were seemingly killed by Onslaught.

We haven't seen the MCU's Zemo (Daniel Brühl) since The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so this would be a great opportunity for Marvel to bring a fan-favorite character back to the screen.

MTTSH has heard that Frank Castle and Songbird will also appear.

Though this won't come as a major surprise, Perez has also heard that there is "some stuff" in the works for the Man Without Fear, the rest of The Defenders, and The Daughters of the Dragon after Daredevil: Born Again concludes with its upcoming third season.

As for Marvel Television's mysterious Zodiac spy thriller, Perez says the show will be "partially" connected to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and may take place across multiple timelines.

When asked about the possibility of seeing Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, in the fifth Spider-Man movie, Perez said: "I know that Sony has toyed around the idea of incorporating Black Cat into live-action for a while now, but not MCU-related. Since then, there haven’t been any talks about her."

We haven't heard much about which supporting characters are expected to feature in the X-Men reboot, but Knight Edge Media's Caleb Williams recently claimed that Moira MacTaggert will appear in a "tiny role," and is now reporting that Renate Reinsve (Backrooms) has met with Marvel about the role (whether anything came of it is unclear).

Making her comic book debut in the mid-'70s, MacTaggert was introduced as a geneticist and expert in mutant affairs. The character was traditionally depicted as a human love interest for Professor Xavier, but her origin was significantly altered in 2019, revealing her to be a mutant with the ability to "redo" her life every time she died.

Staying with the X-Men, Perez doesn't expect to see Colossus in the first movie.

I would LOVE to see Frank in the War Machine suit!!!
Other than an R-rated solo film, putting Frank in the WM Suit would work well for a PG-13 movie. They did a great job with him in "Brand New Day" and the PG-13 rating. Putting him in the suit would be a whole lot of fun.

@BiffDitko - that’s what he should’ve fought the Hulk in. Since it’s so easy to steal Stark tech these days, it’s not impossible that Frank could have access to enough stolen parts to have a semi functional suit. At bare minimum for armored capabilities.

Why would Frank resist the chance of gunning down the rest of the team?

Thunderbolts sequel should be completely about the villains, their plans, their struggles getting defeated by the New Avengers constantly, with only brief appearances from the heroes.

I liked the fight one a lot but that ending shit the bed. I get they were going for something deeper but they should have found a more cleaver way to defeat The Void.
