AEW Wrestler Thunder Rosa Transformed Into X-23/Wolverine With Some Insanely Cool Ring Gear On DYNAMITE

AEW wrestler Thunder Rosa donned some incredible X-23/Wolverine ring gear during last night's episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT, and the talented pro wrestler even had her own claws! Check it out here...

Last night, TNT aired the "New Year's Smash" edition of AEW Dynamite and, if you're a pro wrestling fan, it was one heck of a show. Something we thought might be of interest to our superhero-loving audience here on ComicBookMovie.com is the ring gear donned by Thunder Rosa.

Rosa was squaring off with Jade Cargill (who we're sure you'll remember once cosplayed as Storm) in a match to decide who would advance to the finals of the TBS Championship Tournament.

What really grabbed our attention is what Rosa came to the ring wearing; as you'll see below, she donned ring gear that was clearly inspired and based on X-Men character Laura Kinney, a.k.a. Wolverine. Also known to fans as X-23, the child version of Laura was introduced in 2017's Logan and continues to make an impact on the page. Rosa even had her own claws, and if this was her way of telling us she'd like to play the hero in a movie, we'd definitely give her a shot.

Unfortunately, a debuting Mercedes Martinez robbed Rosa of the win in this match, but we're sure those of you who tuned into AEW Dynamite each week (it moves to TBS next Wednesday) enjoyed this comic book nod. Wrestlers frequently wear gear inspired by superheroes and supervillains, though we'd argue this is one of the most impressive efforts to date as it's pretty much a cosplay costume!

Remember, you can find more pro wrestling news on our sister site, TheRingReport.com. Recent highlights include news on Toni Storm's shocking WWE release, an update on Goldberg's current contract status, and details from Scarlett Bordeaux on why she wasn't used on WWE's main roster.

What do you think of this Wolverine-inspired ring gear?

As a die hard wrestling fan, acknowledging it's essentially live action superhero soap opera gymnastics, I honestly had when wrestling tries to do anything superhero related.

@Razorface1 - the fact you think they need to mimic super hero attire to "make it interesting" makes me think you aren't a wrestling fan.

@ElricReturns - Woah, you got that from me saying wrestling is not interesting? Some real detective work there, pal.

@ElricReturns - TBF, Johnny Gargano & Rey Mysterio usually nail superhero / villain attires more often than not so I like it when it's them & Balor did some cool Marvel paint work before going to the E.

As much as I'm a huge pro wrestling fan though (And I know Josh is too), we don't need an article for every Wrestler every time they do superhero or villain attire, it's nothing new now & not article worthy, so I get it when the non Wrestling fans here come in to complain.

However, it's funny when they try to insult or look down on Wrestling when it's pretty much cut from the same cloth as Superheroes & Villains. Your fandom is no better than Wrestling, Wrestling fandom is no better than Superheroes, but both share a lot in common whether you like both or one or the other.
