Archie Comics Coming to a Theater Near You?

With Archie Comics Publications forming an alliance with Creative Artists Agency, the agency is pushing for branded material in the form of film and TV.

Recently, Archie Comics and Dark Horse joined forces for the Archive Editions. This current partnership between Archie Comics and Creative Artists Agency could potentially lead to an even greater push for the entertainment brand in the form of film and TV. The archive editions are simply reprinted versions of classic Archie stories in hardcover volumes with each volume consisting of 200-250 pages, with a price tag of $49.95.

If the push for the media branding goes through, Archie and the others could all make it to a theater near you. The possibility of seeing Archie in theatrical release isn't a far fetched idea because Archie Comics also owns brands such as "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and "Josie and the Pussycats," both which made their way to theaters and television.

If and when we are able to see Archie in theatrical form, how will he and the gang appear? Live action or in an animated feature, along the lines of box office hits like "Monsters Vs Aliens" or the recent "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs?"

One area where War Zone was better was the out and out violence, the opening scene is brutal just like Punisher should be

The opening sequence was definitely "punisher-ish." I definitely give War Zone that edge.

I haven't heard the issues from this site as to what's wrong with War Zone, so can someone...anyone elaborate?

@ whispers

war zone had terrible acting, plot, and it was just over the top comedy violence. and oh yeah, giving characters in the movie the same names as characters in the comic, but who are totally different and don't even look alike does not give it any more credibility. some characters were police officers, but in the comics they were villains. they just gave random people names from the book, just so they can say "so and so" is in it.

and also, the opening scene was cool...until he hung upside down from the chandalier and started shooting everyone while hanging upside down and spinning, like that wouldn't make you an easier target considering your not mobile?? it was just lame, man
