I first reported director Nicolas Winding Refn's interest and his #1 candidate to play Wonder Woman back in June. Some (a lot) people are against Christina Hendricks playing Diana Prince in a Wonder Woman movie. My initial reaction was surprise which quickly turned into excitement as I think Refn is a brilliant auteur. Having just recently seen the brilliant Drive, I think Refn is someone Hollywood desperately needs amidst the sea of remakes and unoriginal material being mass produced by many Hollywood filmmakers.

I thought many people would likewise be enthused to hear Refn's choice for the titular character or at the very least be excited that such a brilliant director is showing interest in a character that many directors and actresses rightfully fear to approach. In light of this, I decided to put Hendricks in the Wonder Woman costume myself, and I must say she looks pretty good, even though this is just a rough, conceptual image.

I've decided to take this idea even further and create a contest for the best manipulations of Christina Hendricks in the Wonder Woman uniform. The top entry will win Captain America: The First Avenger on Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy. Now here are the guidelines for entering the contest.

Guidelines
1.)The first step to enter and win is to Hit the thumbs up button below.
2.) All entries must use the base photo shown below if they wish to manipulate an image. Original hand drawing submissions are welcome too but again only the photo shown below shall be used for image manipulations.
3.) Contestants are free to put Hendricks in any version of the Wonder Woman costume that's been shown in a comic book.
4.)All photo manipulations must be the entrants original work!
5.) The artist must have his/her CBM user name someplace on the drawing.
6.)Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, District of Columbia, legal residents of Canada (except the Province of Quebec), and the UK. Void in Puerto Rico, Quebec and wherever prohibited by law. If you reside outside the eligible boundaries for the contest, you are still welcome to submit your artwork. All submissions will be showcased in the Avengers Fan Art Gallery, but non-eligible entries will not qualify for prizes.
7.)There are 3 ways to enter. Submit your entries in the comments section below, email your entries to me [use the link in the upper left corner], or find me on Twitter (@All_Thats_Bueno) and tweet your image to me.

8.) Deadline for submissions is October 25, 2011, the release date for Captain America on Blu Ray and DVD.

Here's the base image to use for manipulations and my own personal stab at it (no, I'm not eligible to win lol) :

Again, if you wish to submit an original hand drawing you are welcome to do so but only the above image should be used for manipulations.

One lucky contestant will win this guy:

Yeah but the Green Lantern DVD and Blu-ray has a DLC for a Sinestro skin for Batman Arkham Asylum. That will be the only way that movie is worth anything.

Why Christina Hendricks???? Cool contest but I don't think she is a very good choice for Wonder Woman.
JULEZ13
JULEZ13 - 9/25/2011, 5:09 PM
How come contestants can only use that one picture? Wonder Woman would never pose like that. Could've at least picked a less seductive, more serious photo.

But I'm interested in seeing the entries! Hopefully most of them get posted on here so we can all see them.

@GraphicCity. Very true, maybe make it "Design Wonder Woman and NOT be sent a GL"

Christina Hendricks would have been a good choice 10 years ago. She'll be forty by the time a Wonder Woman movie hits theaters. I'm amazed at the amount of hype a pair of boobs can produce.
CherryBomb

Editing Christina Hendricks is the only way she'd ever fit into the costume or even look good in it.
MarkJulian
MarkJulian - 9/25/2011, 5:15 PM
@julez13 Maybe so but contests are like science experiments. You have to limit the # of variables in order to maintain integrity. Hand drawings are free to draw Christina in any pose they wish.

@Cherry I had this conversation with my gf at seeing DRIVE. I'm sure she would do intense training for the role. Every hero, Tobey (the 1st Spidey at least), Chris Evans, Bale, Reynolds, Jackman, Rooth, Cavill, etc. trains incredibly hard before they suit up. I'm sure Christina would do the same. Plus she's a pretty good actress. She was only in Drive for about 10 minutes but she did good.
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 9/25/2011, 5:22 PM
@GraphicCity I love Christina, she's a great actress don't get me wrong, and I mostly don't mean 'weight' because I think her body is gorgeous. She's just very curvy, she has wide, womanly hips which Amazonian's don't really have.

Maybe months and months and months of intense physical training can MAYBE make her the right build. But then she'd have to leave her Mad Men job because that's one of the main appeals of her character, so I'm thinking practically.
MarkJulian
MarkJulian - 9/25/2011, 5:23 PM
@Cherry Wonder Woman > Mad Men Not really much of a decision there, at least to me.

Amazon's ARE curvy. But they are also athletic. I can't see this woman running across the street without passing out.

lmao @RunDTC...

Did you spend so much time on the costume you where like "awww [frick] it" when it came to the hair?
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 9/25/2011, 5:58 PM
@PreparationH LOL, I'm actually laughing at how angry I've made you. Sorry, I forgot you were a close personal friend of Christina's.

@GraphicCity Well, yeah, I'd personally pick WW but then there's the issue of not many female-driven action movies doing successful and the fact the WW pilot didn't work out. :/

@Gambit89 Haha, I know, it's ridiculous! just because I'm expressing an opinion doesn't mean I'm automatically 'jealous', I'm glad someone understands (:

P.S. Everyone, I'm a big fan of Christina's I just don't think she's right for WW
