Im loving the retro feel of the art. Only ever liked David Mazzucchelli's and Frank Miller's run on Daredevil. Reminds me alot of that

@ Ror, agreed, the writing is the worst of it. But, while not terrible, the art is a Mazzuchelli rip-off imo.

Meanwhile, the girl's neck is snapping this way and that. Well done, Daredevil, a broken heap of bones that used to be a little girl…

I love that they are digging into the archives and bringing out The Spot; originally a semi-goofy Spiderman villain. The nature of The Spot's powers should prove to be pretty formidable for Daredevil, I should think.

Love the retro feel of the art. Wish they would stop starting books over at #1 though. I loved it when they returned FF and others to the old numbering.

I understand the art style. Mark Waid said this book will have a lighter feel than Bendis or Brubaker's runs. After the let down that was Shadowland I'm ready to read a good DD story again.

Just what the world needs. Another #1 with multiple variant covers. The problem with the art appears to be poor inking.

That cover is pretty brilliant, and the art is superb, some of the best art im seeing in mainstream books.

I absolutely LOVED the pencils but if there was such a thing as "phoned in" coloring, this would be it.
comicb00kguy
comicb00kguy - 5/27/2011, 6:24 AM
Shaman: I knew there was SOMETHING wrong with those panels. Looking at them again, you're right- it's the coloring that is off. I still think better inking would also help. Some shadowing and texturing would properly accent the fine pencilwork here. It's a shame that a poor job by the other crafts involved distracts from some nicely done penciling.

I'm also happy to see the Spot again. I've liked him since his first appearance in Spectacular Spidey #100 WAY back in the day.
