According to cinemablend.com, during the interview he revealed that a Beverly Hills Cop 4 was not going to happen and a new Comedy he has planned!




“I have this idea called ‘Jamal and Tyrell and Omar and Brick and Michael’s Wack-Ass Weekend’ about this group of guys who get abducted by aliens on the way to the fights. I’m writing that now."




In my opinion, this would be an awesome film to see but maybe a title change would be more availing. Then again it would give the audience a 80's-90's feel like Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey... Then it would need some great, Black & young comedians like Donald Glover, Brandon T Jackson, Kenan Thompson, Little JJ & Damon Wayans Jr.

Is watch it. Has potential to be a great comedy movie. Hopefully its a stoner flick. Love those movies.

He is obviously taking the idea from Attack The Block.

yeah but i think the Block film was multiracial... Where as here Eddie may be going for a Harold & Kumar type of thing. In H&K the leading cast was of oriental origin (Indian/Korean) and Eddie's cast will consist of Black comedians.

Block.It sounds like another bad Ben Stiller comedy.

By the way if its old Eddie and we get a good cast around
him his idea could be a good movie.Please Eddie don't

"All black cast" interesting and racist. Segregation but self inflicted. Its the label that's an issue, not the fact that movies can have an all black cast. Sometimes its appropriate to the story to have only one ethnicity. (Such as your reference to Jackson.) But its funny if you label a movie "all white cast" people have no problem seeing that that's racist. I love the double standard that dominates this country.

Thats the problem with black award shows, BET, black this black that. Its self inflicted segregation. Its "whites only drinking fountains" all over again. Some progress we've all made.

And in reference to Peter Jackson. I can only assume you are referring to Lord of the Rings, which would be ridiculous since they were just staying true to the source. Goes back to appropriate storytelling. To change the existing characters would be stupid. Because all Jackson's other movies had black actors.

Love eddie murphy but hope this evolves into a better idea.

So the action of Eddie expressing his pride in being of a minority group is racist? Do you not see the image that black folk are betrayed as in the media? Sagging pants, violent, unclean, uncouth etc. You have to have seen it, right? If not then you wouldnt mention BET which is hugely blamed but also owned by white ppl. What about this recent Oscar nominations that didnt even consider an actor of minority (black) origin. Who's the segregationist? Ppl like Eddie, Spike Lee, myself- all show the positive and true side of Black ppl. A group of ppl who first invented the computer, cell phone, A/C, iron board, mops, spark plugs (staying true to the source)... Do you actually see those creative or positive sides toady? So its vital that we promote unity of a small group instead of continuing to be indoctrinated by that of the colonist.

This sounds like it could interesting, and I don't think he's copying Attack the Black just because the cast was mainly black and it had aliens, but this sounds like something that will be completely different. I also hope that even though this movie will have a predominate black cast, I hope they don't stereotype us black ppl, like they tend to do in every type of movie that has mostly black people in it.
