Deadline report that French actress and former Wonder Woman candidate Elodie Yung has joined the cast of Alex Proyas' Gods Of Egypt as one of the Gods (or Goddesses in this case). Hathor - in ancient Egyptian mythology she's the goddess who personified the principles of joy, feminine love, and motherhood. As well as starring as Jinx in the G.I. JOE sequel, Yung popped up as a gang lord in District 13: Ultimatum and also made a brief, but very memorable appearance in David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The story deals with a human thief (Thwaites) who cares little for the affairs of gods but when he discovers Zaya (Eaton) has been cursed by Set (Butler), he falls on the side of Horus (Coster-Waldau), hoping that Set’s death will break the curse. Proyas wrote the script with Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, who are behind Universal’s upcoming horror saga Dracula Untold.

@Andree24 Elodie would be great for Talia Al Ghul or Psylocke with the X men. She's an exotic and gorgeous woman. But, I don't like how this movie this white actors portraying Egyptian gods and Egyptian individuals overall. Hollywood white wash at its best. At east give me one or two Egyptian or middle eastern actors/actresses.

How long until DannyBoy starts reporting my comments? I don't think I have more information about ancient BJs but I know a Norse myth were Thor dresses up as a bride and goes to marry a Frost Giant.

The giant Thrym steals Thor's hammer Mjölnir and demands Freyja as payment for it, desiring the goddess as his own wife. Instead of Freyja, Thor dresses up as the bride and Loki as the bridesmaid, and the two travel to Jötunheim for the "wedding." Thor's identity is comically hinted at throughout the reception (the god eats an entire ox on his own), with Loki providing weak explanations that the giants somehow accept for the odd behavior (he claims that the bride's immense hunger stems from her not having eaten for the last seven days for her excitement). Mjölnir is eventually placed into Thor's hands as part of the wedding ceremony, allowing the god to strike down the giants and return home.

1. I came to this thread looking for infos about a movie I'm only mildly interested in and left with improved knowledge about the history of the blowjob - fascinating!

Get out the white paint. And tons of it. Elodie Yung - half white/half Asian. That's not good enough. Seriously, no Egyptian/Middle Eastern actors (people who look like Egyptians do today) cast in major roles in a movie called the Gods of Egypt? Of course, all the actors except Boseman will be required to get a deep, dark tan no doubt so they can "pass" for Egyptian.

This movie has all the makings of a John Carter or Lone Ranger, that is, a major box office dud.

Hey Hollywood, why don't you make a movie called the Gods of Scandinavia and cast only Asians in all the major roles. I'd like to see an Asian Thor, Loki, Sif and Odin. And then let's see what audiences in North America, Europe and elsewhere think about it?

And people of Egypt, I know money is hard to come by, but you people need to make your own movie about your own Gods and promote it on the world stage.

Oh, I actually liked Alex Proyas' Dark City. Shame on him and Summit Entertainment for making this movie. Guess people have money to burn.

I know it sound weird to people that make these movies but why can't they hirer people that are black? Ancient Egypt had a black population not white people. I guess its crazy times we live in that Hollywood likes to switch things up. I guess next they will be changing the Human Torch black. Wait that's already happening. There is nothing wrong with finding the best for the job but I personally wish Hollywood would stay closer to the source material. That being said congratulations on getting the job.
