There's plenty for comic book and superhero fans to be excited about in 2023, thanks to 9 Marvel and DC superhero movies set to land in theaters. From highly anticipated live-action debuts and sequels, to multiverse-spanning epics, and much-delayed releases, there's plenty on the slate for 2023, and we have the release dates and information for each of the films below!

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Superhero partners Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to not only continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp, but to also officially kick off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Together, with Hope's parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Jonathan Majors makes his MCU debut as Kang the Conqueror.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods

Shazam! Fury of the Gods serves as the first film of 2023 for DC/Warner Bros. The sequel to 2019's Shazam! will continue the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word "SHAZAM!," is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam. The fate of the world depends upon Batson and his foster siblings defeating the Daughters of Atlas.

Peter Quill, who is still mourning over the loss of Gamora, has the responsibility of rallying his crew around him in order to defend the universe and safeguard one of their own. A mission that, in the event that it is not accomplished successfully, has the potential to bring about the end of the Guardians as we know them.

A combination of Marvel’s lackluster record lately and the expectation of a train wreck has me really wanting to see The Flash.

Meh. More excited for Spider-Verse than anything. It has more heart than a lot of these live action adaptations nowadays.

That is a lot of comic book movies in a short time. But hell, I don't care and I plan to see most of them. The DC movies will be quite interesting to watch knowing they won't lead anywhere even though there intention was to lead somewhere.
